Sep 17 2008Star Wars Episode III With Piss-Poor Subtitles
I don't know if this is real or not, but it certainly could be. Apparently some pirates got a copy of Star Wars Episode III before its release and decided to subtitle it themselves. The result? A homoerotic space thriller!
Skip to about 1:00 to get past the explanation.
Thanks Charlie, but you bite my finger and I'll kill you.

Wow, you guys are really on the cutting edge here. Congratulations on finding something that first circulated in 2005.
"I say fake, why would the translate the noooooo as "do not want"?"
Yeah, see, the whole "do not want" meme originates with THIS. That's how old this is.

its real the Chinese gave us a bootleg copy for free before it was out, Hilarious.
what had happened was the subs were translated into Chinese then back into English and you ended up with a babel fish style translation.

awesome. it's genuine I think, it was on failblog a week or so back.
"do not want"... simply epic.

I go to the Philippines every few years to visit family and all they watch are bootleg movies and they ALL have these ridiculuous subtitles. They probably have a program which tries to generate subtitles, but is not quit perfect. It's like when you type an english phrase into a translator, translate to spanish, and back to english... you realize it's just not quite the same.

The Chinese word for "f***" is the same as "do" (and also "dried" as in "dried meat," so you'll see Engrish supermarket signs online too) Electronic translators trying to do Chinese to English with the verb "to be" do that sometimes... but what kind of hideous oversight is it that "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" was mistranslated.... WHEN IT WAS RIGHT THERE ON THE SCREEN? LOL

Like the guy above said, this is Backstroke of the West (trans: Revenge of the Sith). It's the SOURCE of 'do not want'. This is where 'do not want' came from originally. It's not new - I can't remember when I first saw it, but it was certainly more than a couple of years ago. This is not the original. There are some brilliant bits this video missed out, like how 'Jedi Council' gets translated as 'Presbyterian Church'.
