Sep 18 2008Guy Makes Steampunk Bluetooth Headset

steampunk-bluetooth.jpg

Some guy went and made himself a steampunk Bluetooth headset to accentuate his tophat and monocle. The fully functional earpiece is made out of Sculpey clay with watch parts stuck in it. And whether you're a fan of steampunk styling or not, I think we can all agree that I wish I could grow sideburns.

UPDATE: Okay, so it might not be functional after all. Making it, well, un-postworthy. Forget you ever read this.

hi-tech.

first?

i have something similar to this..
except it doesnt serve a function,
but it did give me hep!

Great now you can look like an asshole of the 19th century too!

I think it would just rip out all my ear hair

im too tired to post today sorry to all my fans

I agree, Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.

That's a complete scientific impossibility and is most likely a fake.

It appears to have been photoshopped together, from pictures found on-line. If you look at the shadows you will obviously se what I mean.

If its "real" its a non functioning prop, like the one they used for Never Back down.

Pretty cool. I like the high-def picture.

awww pierre... we'll miss you, whoever you are...
anyway, i thought it looks cool! Why can't we have technology that looks, well... technological? I want all my gadgets to look like i made them myself...
hang on... is that egotistical or geeky? I can't tell..

oh & Diasy... Maybe you should call yourself Queen Meme, 'cos all that repeating yourself is getting old...

I guess I don't 'get' the steampunk thing.

But, I also don't 'get' laid either, so there you go.

that guys ear looks like the wall on the last post just less toilet paper

its nonfunctional like my unit which i happen to call Daisy, like ops a Daisy get on it

Also doubles as a mullet guard. "As thou hair begins to curl around thou ear, thine ear turbine shaves it off."

@7 You've seriously put a lot of thought into debunking the ear piece, eh? It is entirely likely that an existing BT ear piece was simply appliqued with (as was mentioned) Sculpey clay and misc. watch parts. No photoshopping (why does every goober point to the shadows to discredit a photoshop work?), no slight-of-hand trickery meant to decieve us... Just a BT with stuff essentially glued to it. And yes, I bet it even works.

This is being sold on etsy.com. The seller says that its a non-working prop--he never claims that it's "fully functional"

@3 - Advertising your site on every post still makes you a asshat.

@7 - Your incessant comments about photoshop and Never Back Down are old, and you're not funny.

@15 - See @7

i think i agree with daisy not only do the shawdows seem iffy the little gear at the bottom seems a bit 1d and flat to me, also for being on his ear it looks like nothings on it at all im half blind so i may be full of crap but meh thats just my thoughts

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with everyone who thinks the PEW PEW PEW, the photoshop, and never back down jokes are getting old, and quite frankly, the give me a big ol' limpy.

@17, One- until my previous post I never once mentioned photoshop. Two, WTF is "never back down"? Y'know what- never mind, I don't care. Until this post I never once referenced that statement.
So, who exactly is the asshat?
No, don't answer that- it's rhetorical.

Wow, it posted twice. awesome...

@21

I wasn't implying you made comments, your posts showed obvious confusion on what Daisy was talking about, so I was clarifying it for you.

And yes, you are still an asshat. Now times two.

Icon- your brand of clarification is anything but. Perhaps you could try a bit harder rather than simply slinging insults to make your point. 'Nuf sed.

in an effort to avoid looking like a "photoshop!"er, i'll put it like this

that shit doesn't look real to me...

Oh for god's sake, Miles, getting the last word in isn't gonna make you an intarwebz hero. It really does make you more of an asshat.

"I can't go to bed honey, someone is WRONG in the internet!" *faceslap*

Thank you, Amy.

Hey GW, it's not a total loss, at least you gave us info on your inability to grow sideburns......Pussy!

I won't mention that I can't grow them either.

i just don't get steampunk. i don't like it either, but that doesn't mean it isn't cool. i just don't get it. what's the attraction? where did it come from? i've never heard of it before i started coming here. ...but then again, i'd never heard of boobies until i started coming here either. so...

Miles is a faggot.

@30, DUH!

dumbass thing to do
at least he won't get any ear infections wearing a useless ear thing

Kill yourselves.

@33 we- all of us- are. Slowly, inexorably killing ourselves. Too slowly if you ask me.

@7 - Well I sent the news tip in to the God that is Mr Geekologie...For the record:

1. I never expected it to be working but it looks cool.
2. It looked just geeky (cool) enough to be added to the hallowed pages for geekologie.com
3. I doubt its photoshopped, even if it is, its a very good artist and...it still looks cool
4. Its cooler then you are.

steampunk is a nerdy way of self expression based on scifi like jules verne's work and the league of extraordinary gentlemen, taking victorian fashion and tech and adding an anachronistic edge to it. also it is prolly a mod where they cracked one open and put it intn a homemade case. its a common thing in the steampunk community. and all this arguing of asshats, whos gay, photoshopping and in general mocking ingenuity is why u likely cant get laid fellas.

Look - it's Alexander Graham Bell's bluetooth...

that is awesome, I wish we sold stuff liek that :)
