I do understand her situation sucks (especially if it is 100% true) and that she gets to choose which bidder she ultimately ends up with (may not be the highest). It just sucks that this situation even had to be created. I find it sad though not surprising that if a woman makes the decision to become a prostitute people feel that wishing hardship on her is acceptable as she made that choice. I don't see how deciding what to do with your own body is not a feminist action. I see capitalism as being intrinsically patriarchal, but within that scope and understanding that she's in a position of privilege being marketable in a brothel setting, I say good on her.
Placing your own value judgments on how YOU would feel in that situation (like sex without love is cheap, which isn't true for every woman, or that "whoring yourself out" is a last resort, when it's not for every woman) is leading the discussion away from the real issue- which is that student loans can be manipulated by others easily, which is an issue, and that free higher education is lacking, which is another. However, it doesn't particularly shock me that the use of logical fallacy is so prominent on the internet (here I see personal attacks, appeals to emotion, poisoning the well, just to name a few).
I think most of the comments listed here are anti-feminist, as they support the ideas that women should seek love from sex, not pleasure- that pleasure only comes for women through loving relationships- that men are less often judged for being the punters than women are for being the sex workers- that women who are sex workers should be punished- that since she's a stereotypically attractive woman she must not be a virgin. That's the sort of attitude that keeps sex work stigmatized so that women who DO want out from the business stay trapped.

This isn't to say that those who serve are anything but commendable, or that the military isn't a great career for many people. But the military has huge room for improvement before it can be touted as the solution to all a woman's financial problems.
