Aug 21 2008Pretty F'ed Up: World Trade Center Invaders

wtc-invaders.jpg

French-American artist Douglas Edric "Asshat" Stanely "Steamer" has this game on display right now at the '08 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany.

Stanely says that the exhibit is an update of one he created in September 2001. This time the exhibit is much larger, includes multiplayer support, improved tracking, high and low scores leader boards and a "stronger tie-in to the historical narrative that originally inspired me to make this version in the first place."

You aren't helping.

The World Trade Center attacks mark a deep cut in our recent history that is still being processed. The French-American artist Douglas Edric Stanley has found an unusual - though obvious - metaphor with his work "Invaders!", which is based on the 1978 arcade original. In his interactive large installation, the players must prevent the catastrophe by controlling the well- known cannon at the lower screen border with their bodies and firing it using arm movements. Like the original, this trial is ultimately unsuccessful, thus creating an articulated and critical commentary about the current war strategy. In this regard, Douglas Edric Stanley sees Space Invaders as "a social tale that can be related to historical tales without losing its poetic power"

Oh yeah, tons of poetic power there, Stanley. How moving. The convention goes on until the 24th, so anybody that's attending or lives nearby, feel free to stop in and say hello to Douglas. Hello with a tire iron to the nuts. And maybe you could recite some Dylan Thomas or Robert Frost while you're doing it. You know, for added poetic power.

This was inevitable although probably too soon. Every time I see that damned Titanic kid's slide, I realize that in 90yrs, there will be a World Trade Center ride where you slide to the bottom as the 'building' collapses.

This is what humans do. Strange creatures.

Too soon? It's been 5 years almost and a few ruined middle eastern states latter. I suppose your still ruing the fact the black people were set free.

Whoops, 6

More like 7?

Time to get over it. 'Tire' iron this and asshat that. Jesus. You'd think they were the only country to ever have suffered a national disaster, the way they keep f***ing bleating on about it. Hush up, already, nobody cared in the first place, even less so half a decade on.

Also, what's all this noise I keep hearing about the ninth of November? What the hell happened then?

The UK abolished capital punishment Geophh?

was that it?

Wow, Jimmy. That's quite a jump in logic there. You take "This was inevitable although probably too soon" to mean that I rue the fact there isn't slavery in this country?

I thought the Internet Tough Guy Club didn't get out of bed until at least noon.

Holy shit, what the f*** is wrong with you people (#2, #5). This bothered me to the core. A lot of people i knew died that day and I was in the area when it happened. You don't "get over it", I still cant watch clips of what happened on tv. And when some asshole makes a 9/11 themed space invaders simply for shock value it pisses me off. This little f***er displayed this crap in Germany because if he did it in new york they would have killed him.

It is a little disturbing but I guess there are games based on wars where thousands of people died. I don't necessarily agree with the making of this game but someone was eventually going to do it.

@5;
I believe the 9th of November is when your head gets removed from your ass.
I just looked up "asshat" online and there it was, the definition read "GEOPPH".
Wow, who would have thought?

@9 yeah, there are a lot of games based on wars where thousands of people died. The thing this that this wasn't a war. By your comparison it would be like making a game based on the 1994 AMIA bombing in Argentina

Sure we felt sorry for americans and 9/11 victims at first. But over the years our sympathy has run short especially knowing the american government either had a hand in helping or not preventing these attacks we really don't give a shit. BTW the body count for Iraqi citizens is well over half a million as a direct result of american occupation.

Wow, your right, it is almost seven. Time flies when you just do give a shit. My sympathies go out to those who lost close friends and family in any disaster, I just don't see why the rest of the world is ment to keep wearing black arm bands just because it was the indestructible almighty americans who got struck for once.

Wouldn't be better that the invaders were flames and that the cannon was a water hose?

Very politically incorrect (f***ed up).

Let's see him making a game involving the Gestapo in occupied France were the main character has to escape from a forced labor camp were everyone is miserably working without any motivation at all.
Wow, that would make a nice poetic protest against the influence, power (and performance) of syndicates in France.

And by poetic I meant shitty.

As a fire fighter, this game drives me up the wall and I think I'll need more than a tire iron to fix this guy! 9/11 is a day of silence for me and my fellow fire fighters to rember this job is one that can take your life in an instant! Also is there a railroad near the convention because I hope this guy likes the front of a high speed train!

it really really pisses me off that people like #12 can talk about how "yeah, it was sad, but then America went and killed a bunch of their people so how can we still feel sorry for them?"

The problem here is that we weren't doing ANYTHING when they attacked INNOCENT people that day. AFTER they attacked us, OUR GOVERNMENT struck back with this stupid illogical war.

So as i see it, some people came over and killed a bunch of innocent American bystandards for something they had no control over, and then our country went and attacked them, which we as Americans also had no control over.

I don't support this war, but i am also not going to let go of what happened that day. Ever.

@13
Who is wearing black arm bands?

Most conflict have civilian casualties, which sucks monkey balls big times.

In the end it's up to the administrations to evaluate the gains and risks of their actions.

@13

you seem almost happy that the americans "got struck for once" (kind of an asshole thing to say). stop bringing f***ing nationalities into this. I personally have no control over what the U.S. government does. be it go to war with Iraq, Iran, Germany or Japan. why cant you just see this as offensive regardless of where the event took place? suppose your best friend died during the IRA's 96 manchester bombing. how would you feel even today if they came out with that in space invaders form?

@13

Also you'll notice that this dick put jumpers from the holes in the building.

Zsolt, to be fair the vast majority of of civilian casualties in Iraq have been caused by ethnic and sectarian violence; basically Iraqis killing Iraqis. So your quite wrong in when you state that the civilian deaths are a "direct result of american occupation", in act if the American and coalition troops were to pull out right now then nothing short of a full scale civil war would break out.
Don't believe me? Then just watch the news; you'll find that for ever poor bugger killed by your heavy handed Marines another hundred are killed by suicide bombers and local militia. Now i'm not saying that I support the war but it's un fair to blame everything wrong in Iraq on the troops and if the allied troops were to pul out now then it would be nothing short of an act of cowardice

What a bunch of little baby girls. It's a videogame. The only people it "shocks" are you sissy's who let it shock you. If you're going to cry like babies everytime anyone ever does anything that shows a world trade center building then you are weak and deserve to suffer.

oops, sorry for the double post.

This is in the poorest taste possible. Anyone that would do this with any major loss of innocent life (anywhere) possibly didn't get enough love as a child or is just a natural dipshit.

ditto for #24.
my b.

Julian

I think a lot of people are glad america got struck for once (not that anyone got killed just shown they aren't as invincible as they like us to think) due to americans attitude around the world.

You've been mocking and ridiculing the french for germany's occupation for 60yrs so its a taste of your own medicine.

for the record my cousin was manager of a shop in the shopping centre and growing up several times i would have to stand outside school while the bomb squad checked for ira bombs.

bombs paid for by america.

its facts like that that americans forget when acting like they were the first to have a terrorist attack or theirs was the worst when you was funding attacks around the world, ira? bin laden?

america needs to get of their high horse.

I forgot to mention if a game was made about ira bombings i wouldn't care

@12... It's not about having sympathy. I don't feel sorry for the Armenians because of the genocide, I'm not Armenian, I wasn't there. But I realize it is a painful topic for them therefore I'm not gonna go and make an dickhead comment about it. It's about being a civil, considerate human being.

Let's take this to the next logical step...video games about blowing up buses in London or trains in Madrid or nightclubs in Bali.

Or a 'collect the floating bodies' game set after Hurricane Katrina or the 2005 Tsunami?

@30
There was a game that was far more effective for making a point about bombing Palestinian terrorists.

You had to spot them amongst the crowds, but if your missiles made any collateral damage (killed civilians) then they would turn terrorists too!

Far, far better executed that this, and well below its budget!

Counter-Strike anyone?? Plant a bomb, dont let them defuse... "TERRORIST WIN!"

great game though

As Battlefield 1942 fighting in the destroyed streets of Stalingrad, Leningrad and Berlin... No civilians tough.

I support the war. I support killing muslims. All of 'em. My best friend was killed on the 40th floor. So f*** you, you eurotrash pieces of shit.

You euridiots and canidiots talk a lot of shit. So stop us you fairy little f***s! Get your pussy ass socialist governments to URGE the US to stop killing all the innocent civilians. Not one of those LAME ASS EU nations has the balls (or might) to stand up to the U.S.

Look at poland you closet fags. The russians have threatened to use NUCLEAR weapons on them because of a missle shield. You're right russia, guess we didn't need that shield after all.

You haven't heard a peep from germany, france or the UK. Stand UP you f***ing wussies! You all sit there and bitch because the US is always sticking our nose in places where it doesn't belong. Well now's your f***ing chance! Do something about it.

You won't, because you can't. You spent all this time sucking america's teet, you don't have the desire, the inclination, or the ability to defend yourself.

haven't heard much from the us either.

Given your secular nature how would you know what the responses from countries that aren't america are?

Your the reason america is the most hated nation on earth

Obviously there are people commenting who have suffered losses both in the US and in other countries. In a world where nations compete for resources and power in order to protect themselves and prosper, such tragedies and their resulting pain will occur. And such ideas as this one will stir our emotions. Humans have a long memory for injury.

@35 'anon'

Haven't heard much from the US? I believe our statement was "we will defend our ally Poland like it was US territory" That's a pretty f***ing clear statement you ignorant bastard. Oh wait! your government controls your TV and Radio so you might have missed it. Either that or you were watching your own ass being kicked in the olympics.

Hate me some more. I doesn't matter what you or anyone else from your entire country thinks. Get that through your little socialist head. Hate me all you want, we will still keep blasting the shit out of muslims. Guess what? looks like it's going to be commies and muslims. I dare you to DO something about it instead of just whining on geekologie. You won't though.

That's ok. Your government is only a hop, skip and jump from communism anyway so I can see why you sympathize.

@36 Robyn

I agree with you. Unfortunately 9/11 has little to do with that. The U.S. has never intentionally targeted civilians.

We're 3rd in the table you pilock.

Socialist, is that what your media told you?
what is this? 1928?

Stop living in past stereotypes you ignorant yank.
So the us will defend it? how much will they charge poland for that?
Thats a reference to history, but as your government tells you what history to believe through the cinema and propaganda schoolbooks you wont know what i'm talking about.

Is there oil in poland?
Not that russia has to be worried, everyone has seen how accurate your missiles are. We've all seen how successful you are in wars.

Poland will soon wish they had russia on their land and not you guys.
We know first hand what having your country as allies means. How unreliable you are and self-serving. How you stab your allies in the back repeatedly.

the us may never intentionally target civilians but your bombs and missiles do.
Most hated nation on earth.

Cuban missle crisis in the Balkans

Some people never learn

If you're not first you're last, bud. And you're cruising at about half. Welcome to mediocrity.

How successful we are? What would be your definition of success in Iraq you pint swilling fool? The complete eradication of all life? Nope. We can't help it if the iraqis are too infantile to govern themselves. So what do we do? wait around till they figure out what the f*** to do and take casualties. Yup, thats backstabbing alright.

It's not about Oil dingleberry. We get NOTHING form poland. and ABSOLUTELY nothing from Israel yet we continue to support them. How can you call us back stabbers. We secretly want to take over poland so we can export all their hot women.

Take a hard look at your government, and please explain how it isn't socialist.

"We can't help it if the iraqis are too infantile to govern themselves."
And there we have it.
The worlds police.
Feel superior no do you?
you know it stems from your own inferiority complex.

Please tell me from your experience how we are socialist, and whats wrong with it with chanting usa (the only thing you can spell right you cheeseburger eating invader monkey) and waving a flag.

Hey american whiners: GET OVER IT!

Man, this is one hate filled post. All I have to say is this: all you euro/canadia/whoever else douches need to shut the f*** up. Either stop talking shit or stop sucking up every piece of popular culture our nation has to offer your lame, wanna-be asses.

Can't have your cake and eat it too, bitches.

people are crybabies, I understand that the folks who were directly affected will never forget it...just like the Holocaust victims...but hey! we all had fun playing Nazi teddy Bear vs Jewish Mouse in Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64 FTW!

So uhhhh..... you guys umm... don't like my little video game, huh?

'@5;
I believe the 9th of November is when your head gets removed from your ass.
I just looked up "asshat" online and there it was, the definition read "GEOPPH".
Wow, who would have thought?'

Terrible. Try again.

"it really really pisses me off that people like #12 can talk about how "yeah, it was sad, but then America went and killed a bunch of their people so how can we still feel sorry for them?"

The problem here is that we weren't doing ANYTHING when they attacked INNOCENT people that day. AFTER they attacked us, OUR GOVERNMENT struck back with this stupid illogical war. "

That is ENTIRELY wrong. Do you honestly think that someone would invest years in perparing to attack the civilians of a nation for jollies? I know the Taliban are a bunch of cocks, but if you really buy into the 'they hate our freedom!' shit you're beyond help.

"Let's take this to the next logical step...video games about blowing up buses in London or trains in Madrid or nightclubs in Bali."

Yeah, the difference is England and Spain aren't still running around shouting 'PAY ATTENTION TO US! PITY US!".

Watch it happen, and watch us care.

It also needs pointing out that poster 34 is entirely moronic, and epitomises the primary problem with modern America: indoctrination and misinformation.

"Hate me some more. I doesn't matter what you or anyone else from your entire country thinks. Get that through your little socialist head. Hate me all you want, we will still keep blasting the shit out of muslims."

Then people will keep flying planes into you! I'm sorry I've now posted four times in a row, but I'm finding it f***ing hard to reel in my indignation at the inanity of some of these posts.

Are you dim, Right Fury? Are you mentally sub-normal? Your posts are fairly articulate, and your vocabulary obviously at least average, but I cannot understand how anyone could possibly be so pigshit-thick.

"ABSOLUTELY nothing from Israel yet we continue to support them. "

Yes you do! Yes, you do!

Are you mental? Are you actually mental?

Haha! Oh god, oh christ. Jesus' sake, I'm astounded. I don't know what to think of this planet any more. You are depressing.

The only terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 were in our own government, you idiots. A bunch of cave dwellers in the mountains could never have planned and coordinated an attack like that. Besides, the U.S. government had PLANNED on doing something VERY similar to this during the Cold War. I don't care about the couple thousand idiots who died that day. It isn't worth all the other lives lost, Afghani, Iraqi, and American alike.

I would like to point out that i find it disturbing that the general consensus when it comes to the typical view of Americans is that they all think alike, act alike, and all of us agree whole heartedly with everything that occurs on behalf of the typically louder-spoken crowd of occasionally semi retarded war mongers. (although we have our share of semi retarded liberal idiots as well.)

And while #34 is spouting hate filled rhetoric, you're doing no better Geoff, by slamming another group of people with guess what... "hate filled rhetoric."

And as for the 'PAY ATTENTION TO US! PITY US!" comment, you're also the one that is taking considerable time trolling a site, and a post, (and at this point four times in a row) to generally preach your negative views in hopes of what? Convincing people that Americans are bad people? Or that America is a bad country?
As for indoctrination and misinformation, how many times have you visited America, how long have you spent here, and how much time have you spent talking to an average American... You know, the type that actually don't support the war, and the direction it's taken... (since that is actually our majority.)
Next time you post about Americans, please don't have the unmitigated gall to lump us all together, or as i think you've demonstrated, talk about us in what seems to be a misinformed fashion.
You may now return to your American bashing propaganda now, as I'm sure you will. Have at it too, even though I'm sure you'll tell me I'm wrong, one of the things that makes America great, is knowing that no matter what you have to say, and knowing that I and other people may disagree with what you say, we will defend and cherish your right to say it. (maybe not 34, he seems kind of unhappy)

Lisa Simpson: Dad, you can't judge a place you've never been to.
Bart Simpson: Yeah, that's what people do in Russia.

Crap, in retrospect that was a long post. Sorry all.

I apologize for my son's tirade, and his name - we spell "Jeff" kind of f***ed up over, just like our teeth and our loyalty.

What does the guy who made Space Invaders think? Wasn't it Atari - and didn't Steve Jobs once OWN part of Atari? Godammit Steve, start shopping the contract to have Asshat entombed in an iPhone (and Geophh inside a shitty old E.T. cart for the 2600).

Chaosthirteen

I see what you're saying and even though i may have sounded like i lumped all americans as the same the truth is it was easier to type "american" than to make the distinction between those with the big mouths small brains and the rest.

but i do have to disagree with one thing you said.
You make out the it's all anti american bashing like you are the victims that have done nothing to anyone else to deserve this.
You probably don't notice it but we constantly have to put up with this air of superiority from your country, hearing you exclaim you are the leaders of the free world!?! (how can it be free if we have a self proclaimed leader) my leader is my prime minister not your president. Constant jibes at everyone yet you are the first to cry when someone does that to your country. It all leads to this anti american attitude that does exist.

You yourself are guilty of it.
Who do you think you are that you can say you will disagree with my argument (which you have a right to) but you will defend my right to say it.
Of all the arrogant assumptions. You haven't defended us before on a moral standpoint (that includes both ww, sorry european wars as they was known in america) and i doubt you will start now.
I will defend my rights not someone who thinks they can step in as if their morals and way of life is better enough that they can take it up upon themselves.

p.s. don't worry about it being a long post.

Hey "Geoff Leopard", are you manic or schizophrenic or something? What's with the endless posts?

And "piss off" to the dick-ass continentals who think America should "get over it." What makes America worth defending? Unlike Germany, we haven't outlawed speech that defends those who killed our civilians. Unlike Muslim communities, we haven't rioted based on caricatures (like aforementioned shallow 'art' exhibition).

Iraq war? We were just taking out the trash...Saddam & the lot. Would be nice if the UN actually helped, but at least we're bold enough to try and get that nation back on track single-handedly if that's what it takes.

I can't believe some of you people. You are making jokes and demeaning human life. Over three thousand innocent people lost their lives that day. Thousands of family and friends lost loved ones. How can you possibly say such horrible things just because the dead were Americans? You rant on and on about the sanctity of life for other nationalities and how the U.S. is horrible for striking other countries, but when Americans die you can so easily become a hypocrite and say that American lives are worthless. This is unbelievable that that man was allowed to make a game this insensitive and disgusting. Would you have a different reaction to a game that was "Concentration Camp Tycoon" or "Bali Nightclub Boom Boom." That man in reprehensible and so are the people commenting on this site that this is acceptable or funny or deserved. I'm not sure if I'm more angry and sick from this man and his game or the glaringly wretched things people are saying here. What does it matter the horrible events of that day happened 5 year ago or 500. The images are still ever present in our minds and just as horrifying. This is the same for any other country who has experienced and terrorist attack. The passage of time does not excuse the demeaning of lost life. Those of you making jokes and saying this was deserved are disgusting, horrible people. Absolutly disgusting.

Chaosthirteen, I'm 'bashing' no Americans besides those that're disgraceful and sickening enough to spout such idiotic shite as whatshisdog Fury up yonder, and the kneejerk OMG IT'S PERTAINING TO THE ATTACKS ON SEPTEMBER 11th, THE WORLD'S SINGLE GREATEST AND ONLY UNTOUCHABLE DISASTER brigade.

Please read my posts, I'm making no sweeping 'Americans' comments, I'm just getting incredibly incensed at the sheer ignorance and blind, conditioned defence of the worst institution since Nazi Germany.

Stiles, you're exactly what I'm talking about.

One comment, one question.

You haven't defended us before on a moral standpoint (that includes both ww, sorry european wars as they was known in america) and i doubt you will start now.

I haven't defended you because I disagreed with several of the views you have taken, but you will see that I haven't objected to you saying them, nor do I think that at any time did you need any kind of morale support to continue saying them. And you probably would have been more upset by me and thus would have inflated my perceived arrogance by trying to defend you. (I also didn't mean to say that you were incapable of defending yourself as well.)

And for the question. I've never heard the term European Wars. Were you trying to insinuate that that definition is a common term in America? Or was it meant to say that's what it's called in other parts of the world? We call them World War One (or the Great War) and World War Two.

P.S. America still rocks my socks off, and for the game, I think it's rather tasteless... as I did when Super Columbine Massacre RPG game was when it came out.

9/11 is a tragedy. But seriously, I hope america gets attacked again. They've commited atrocities in Afganistan and iraq. America has a double standard, if people are so sad for 9/11, they should also be sad for the civilian afgans and iraqis killed by Americans.

1 less american = 1 less cocky asshole = good.

chaos you missed my point

I wasn't talking about you personally defending my rights but your country.
The phrase you used was you would defend my right to say it. A very american saying that is never backed up and followed through. In fact when someone whos not american has something to say its met with, well fury is a perfect example.

Americans need to understand that phrases like that and thinking the usa is the, what is that guy from fox sean hanassey i think described it as "the greatest, bestest(not a word), free-est (also not a word so dont know how to spell it) nation on the face of gods earth, as well as thinking you're the leader of the free world!?! do not travel well.
In fact the last two should not be said at all and defending anyone's right to free speech should apply to only americans as you are not anyone else's leader despite what you proclaim.

Americans come of as american morals are superior than anyone else's yet have never acted because its the right thing to do. Your morals are not better as they are secular.

European war was a how the two world wars but mainly the first one were described in america. It was considered a european war so you had no reason to get involve. Despite the fact canada was fighting with us, india, africa, australia, countries from asia and even south america.
It's more of that american arrogance that has built and built over the years and led to you not endearing yourselves to the world.

I don't know of any other country including germany after the second world war that had to produce a leaflet for it's countrymen telling them how to act abroad in an attempt to increase their countries "favorability" (not a word and if it was it would be spelt with a u) around the world.

On a side note i'm not having ago at americans that have this attitude but people like fury have an ignorance that's so prevalent an common it needs to be challenged.

I'm pretty sure no-one would make a game based on the occupation of Iraq, which resulted so far in HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of civilians getting it.

Oh, they have? A 3D first-person shoot-the-Arab-up? I see.

That's f***ed up. I live in NYC and went through 9/11 like every other NYer. They certainly have rights to free expression but I bet they won't make a video game about their grandma being hit by a bus. It's called "being considerate" and care how other people might feel. But enough about that. Lets talk about a jew problem.

9/11 the government did it

I can understand your pain "Right Fury" - losing your best friend on 9/11. But killing innocent people with "smart bombs" will just lead to a vicious cycle like the one between Israel and Palestine. I can only imagine right now many young Iraqis and Afghanis have sworn revenge on the USA for the death of their family members. Especially Iraq, which had almost 1 million Christians and no links to Al-Qaeda. I think the "Shock and Awe" days in Iraq will be remembered for generations.

I remember sboy.

Hiroshima- Would that have been "just a background"?
France, Germany, Poland in ANY world war - great "plot"?
The ONLY difference between those trajedies and the 9/11 attack on the US is...
AT LEAST DURING THOSE CONFLICTS THERE WAS AN OPEN WAR.
This "game" is a political statement of support to terrorists. While we're at it, lets showcase a child in south africa with missing limbs - it's funny right? A little girl in the middle east having a clitorendectamy(sp?). Thousands died, horribly, slowly, and painfully. That pain doesn't fade in a decade. Ask the Japanese how they felt about the BOMB. Betcha they're a little touchy.

Everyone saying that we deserved it because of what we've done since... welcome to the belief you claim to hate "pre-emptive strike" ASSHATS

Hey Geoff Leppard, if you hate Americans so much, why don't you come here and become a suicide bomber? I'll volunteer the deposit on the vest. No one's asked for any sort of pity, you delusional manic couch stain. Just not to mock ppl jumping from a 1000-ft high (333-and-change meteres, for those OTHER imperialists) burning building.

Hey Sboy, who says there aren't Americans mourning the loss of Iraqi & Afghan civilians? But distinguish between Iraqi & Afghan civilians killed by stale ancient sectarian and fundamentalist feuding. For you, I'll throw in a free iPod with your suicide vest.

(I miss when their downtrodden defeated asses just sat around communes & cafes & cooked up idiocy like dadaism & nihilism, instead of recycling & rehashing anti-American criticisms.)

Also, when was the last time a European country liberated themselves or anyone else without calling us?
The REAL reason some people dislike US is not for any of the reasons being hatefully spewed. The reality is that America is viewed (and for the most part is) as a "rich" nation, the commodities we all take for granted are reserved for the wealthy in other nations. When you have nothing (Poland has issues making through an entire winter with enough salt to clear roads), you are quick to hate on the guy across the way with a big-screen and some toys...
To all of the Euro-haters, I am sorry. Sorry you have yet to show the courage and fortitude to liberate yourselves from centuries old ways of life that hold you down.
As fas as the "Leaders of the Free World" comment, we (USA) were the first successful Democratic Republic, as the example -read "leader"- in being a free people, we earned that title.

UPDATE- The "artist" took the "art" down after multiple death threats and word of a lawsuit by TAITO - the original developers of Space Invaders.
*I'm so happy I think I'll make an art piece, with his picture and a pile of dogshit, it will be a deep an complex commentary on traitors, euro politics, and "artists". I wonder what his reaction would be...

To Right Fury and all others spewing their amazingly ignorant anti-European slop: Going by all of your hate-filled ranting I'd say you're just some badly educated teenagers getting a hard-on out of being dicks. 'Cause you can't be that f***ing stupid to believe the ignorant shit you're saying - or repeating from whatever white trash news / parent you worship.

Maybe - just a suggestion - you should try, just try, visiting Europe or anywhere else in the world before launching off again and again with the very tired 'how f***ing great America is' and how shit everywhere else is.

Oh, and please, read a history book not written by an American for Americans about America - might open your eyes to a few other opinions about World history. You know, the world that exists beyond your own borders.

And while you're out here on the Internet, try ...please try... having a look at other news services that aren't just talking about the US side of things - but all sides. Shocking, I know. Maybe one day when your balls drop you'll understand you can be 'man' enough to explore and accept different opinions to your own.

Maybe then you'll learn what freedom means - you know - that 'thing' you scream about all the time. Except, of course, when others exercise their right to it - and then your ignorant, bigoted, hate-filled death wishing starts.

You are so f***ing sad. We can only hope that in a couple of years when you all finish high school that maybe you'll grow up.

"I lost my best friend on 9/11" - oh you poor little teenager ... you just wish you did so it'd actually give your f***ed up, racist and pointless life some deeper meaning.

And you even think sending death threats or actually killing someone for putting together a tasteless, attention-grabbing piece of 'art' is justified ... but wow, those awful Muslim's wanting to kill someone for insulting Mohamed by drawing a cartoon of him... they're insane and godless.

Ever looked in mirror, dumb f***s?

Standalone- Speaking of hateful venom... Thank you for showing us your true colors while attempting to hide behind piety...

Oh please, Thumperchica. What are you talking about?

I was truly wondering who would want to defend moronic teenage idiots posting racist, ignorant rants. And now I know. I guess it's their 'god given right as uneducated Americans' to go online, talk shit, insult / threaten everyone and basically prove how completely stupid they are.

I have not one issue with intelligent Americans or Europeans (interesting you think you know which one I am) who actually understand that nothing in this world is black and white, there is always more than one point of view and more than one reason anything is done.

I would love to hear one - just one - intelligent and justified reason for all of the hatred against Europeans. What? They question what the American government does in the world (how, gosh, un-American)?

The funny thing is - Europeans don't hate Americans, they just don't like being treated like shit from (some of) them for absolutely no reason (as Americans don't like it happening to them). Read through the postings above and you'll get that gist. There's always one asshole who says thing to get a response (hence some anti-US posts) but the US replies are ... a bit much.

Me? I just have issues with teenagers posting comments that are embarrasingly xenophobic. I'm not being pious, and if speaking hateful venom is what you think I've done ... then I'm sorry, you'll never get it.

If you want to 'only' have things to do with the US, get off the Internet, turn on the local news and shut up.

Or hey, keep posting hate on the Internet. That'll help everyone feel better about Americans.

Standalone -
Amazing that the only thing I said to/about you, was pointing out your hypocrisy with the angry tone - and you attack me. I never said you were any nationality. Nor did I defend the violent ramblings of hurt/angry countrymen.
The beauty of a free society is that we are all free to make an ass of ourselves, some of us are just more likely to do so than others. While this can be irritating if the subject matter hits close to home, it doesn't mean they don't have the right to say it. It also doesn't mean you get to decide how someone else takes what you've said...
As far as free speech and all of the whining and finger pointing - we've all said our peace. We are all still alive, and have the same limbs/digits as before this conversation. Ta-Da!

You are not a wonderfully unique snowflake. This extends to your country.

You declared war on us when we were still tied to the country that spawned you. Never forget.

Waaaa Julian

Big fecking deal. Bothered you to the core. QQ.

As if you are the center of the universe. Fecking whippy feck.

Wow thumperchica is stooooped.

I wish YOU would of died in the attacks. That of been better.

What a dumb yankee.

Too soon? It's been 5 years almost and a few ruined middle eastern states latter. I suppose your still ruing the fact the black people were set free.
