Aug 12 2008Buy It For Me!: Every NES Game Released

There's an eBay auction going on right now for an NES and every game ever released in a gray cartridge (no golden Zeldas), along with two that never were (California Raisins and Final Fantasy 2)!
This is it! Every NES cartridge ever made in a gray cartridge. About half the games have the instruction manual. This auction also includes a complete NES System with mint everything, including the posters and warrantee. A boxed Four Score with 2 extra controllers is also included, plus everything else you see on these pics. This feat took me years and thousands to complete. This is my most prized collection which I do not want to give up, but I have some serious family issues where money is needed now.
The auction has a Buy It Now price of $3,800, and, seeing how I am turning 14 today, I thought all you loyal Geekologie readers might want to band together and help me buy it. Seriously, if every one of you just donates a dollar, then I'll only have to cover $3,500 myself.
Well folks, the blogging is done, time to hit the streets! Literally -- I'm gonna have to sell myself for an hour to afford birthday shooters. See you all tomorrow!
Hit the jump for a couple more pictures and a link to the auction.

Wow pretty cheap, considering people would probably pay close to 20,000. Maybe not, since no zeldas...

Is the guy selling this the same guy who had the power glove in "The Wizard"? Cuz he was a spolied brat that had every game.

My family and I had an NES with a golden Zelda about 8 years ago when I was young and stupid. If we had known that the game was so rare, it would be in a glass case hidden in some remote part of egypt (Our back yard). But we didn't.
Long story short, one of the few golden Zeldas got smashed after about 2 years of service.

Thats terrible. Now if he were selling every single VHS ever made, a VHS player, a VHS cleaner, and the Japanese version of Home Alone, I would pay out the dong hole.

i dont see r.o.b. the robot neither, but i bet he has gyromite. how can you play gyromite with no r.o.b.? along with the missing powerglove id say this is a waste of money.

Happy birthday, Mr. Fish.
Now that you're legal, (hey down here in Florida 14 is legal), maybe we could get together for some fun.
I'll bring the candy.

The golden Zelda cartridge isn't worth shit.
He was referring to the rare cartridge given away at the Nintendo PowerFest in 1990... he was just using the golden case that Zelda had as an example of what THAT game cartridge looked like. I think everybody had that gold case, seriously.
How many people here got the free Dragon Warrior cartridge with their subscription of Nintendo Power back in the day? It seems like everybody took advantage of that crazy deal.

21. venort - August 13, 2008 2:17 AM
whut? no international bidders!?
if I had any money, I would have bought this, and glot ROB and a powerglove and all that seperate.
22. fisrt!!! - August 13, 2008 3:24 AM
You guys do realise that a grey Zelda is rarer than a gold Zelda, right?
23. Lucas - August 13, 2008 5:27 AM
I love the Powerglove. It' so bad
24. Cigol - August 13, 2008 6:29 AM
This seems old, the pictures and the auction. I wonder whether he couldn't sell them the first time around.
25. Jimmy - August 13, 2008 7:13 AM
I hope whoever buys it donates it to the vNES project. Then they'll be immortalised forever.
26. Trevor - August 13, 2008 8:31 AM
It's a "buy it now" auction? Man, I totally thought it would be worth more than that.
27. Momboelitist - August 13, 2008 9:47 AM
I'd sooner purchase a box of rocks.
28. Chris - August 13, 2008 9:55 AM
This is why god invented emulators and roms.
All of those games fit onto a memory card that is the same size as a quarter.
29. Ken - August 13, 2008 10:58 AM
I think i have all of them in ROM format in my Modded XBOX.. funny thing is i never even bother to play it.
30. Tim - August 13, 2008 11:25 AM
Yeah ROMs and emulators, but can you find all those games? I highly doubt it.
31. Momboelitist - August 13, 2008 12:31 PM
Although I could care less, it's not about if all the games fit on the point of a pin in 2008, it's about the nostalgia of having the original stuff.
32. Rob Absher - August 13, 2008 1:49 PM
The 2 gold zelda games are in the auction. You can go to nintendoearth.com to check them all out individually. I am the one selling the games. Anyone interested/
33. gypsy - August 13, 2008 3:01 PM
So how do I hide this post from my husband? Damn it, Geekologie guy!
34. Cenon Mercado - August 13, 2008 4:38 PM
Ok, I tried sending my payment via paypal for the fund, but I have a feeling no one else did and the Geekologie Writer may have to put in more funds. Sorry man, maybe next year! Then again, you could contact Rob Absher directly, I hear he likes little boys!

I got a R4 and a DS for christmas this past year. I downloaded a torrent of every US released NES and SNES game and was able to fit all of them on a micro SD card tot play on my DS. Total cost was around ~$180 for the DS, R4, SD card, plus the time it took to download the ROMS. I can also play N64 and DS roms with this thing.
36. Evil Jim - August 14, 2008 10:06 AM
Holy shit dude, I'm 25 and I remember this crap the first time.
Never got past level 3 of mario. Duck hunt was a killer though, and I recently play Jackie Chan something something. I'm waiting for a DJ friend to make me an awesome dance tune from sampling it.
