Aug 22 2008Artistic Photo Gallery Of Star Trek And Star Wars Fans Dressed Up As Characters

This is an artsy photo gallery by photographer Steve Schofield containing a ton of people dressed up as Star Wars and Star Trek characters. And, because it's Friday and I've already started drinking, I threw in a Ninja Turtle for good measure. Remember the sexy Comic-Con and Princess Leia galleries? Well this is the opposite of those. If those galleries were the hot girl in high school you always had a crush on, this is your ugly little sister. But it's definitely still worth a view, the photos are incredibly well done. I really love the feelings they evoke. It's almost like you ARE that person all dressed up in your costume, posing for the camera, and thinking, "what the f*** have I gotten myself into?"
Hit the jump for the monster gallery. It really is awesome.

Thanks To Jenny, The Bloggess, for always kicking ass.

Good job (claps)
Way to point out what happens on this site everyday....
Do you think Picard leaves Picardboard up all day?
16. jbl - August 22, 2008 6:07 PM
#11. We get it, you spend to much time on the internet.
Dont be so gay all your life.
17. marlo - August 22, 2008 6:17 PM
GENIUS. Now I feel like re-watching Trekkies. Nerd trainwrecks where you can sort of empathize with the nerds and laugh at them at the same time are so much win.
I think my favourite is the Imperial Guard with his kittycat.
18. Wesley - August 22, 2008 6:24 PM
Is that a Jump-to-Conclusions Mat in photo #8?
Oh, PLEASE tell me that's a Jump-to-Conclusions Mat!
19. NastyBedazzler - August 22, 2008 6:33 PM

If you are incredibly bored (like on the verge of killing yourself bored) look for the following items:
- a mini-yoda
-an unplugged keyboard
- a wok (the pan not a typoed ewok)
- a hanger
- a wii
- a piano

34. Thumperchica - August 23, 2008 3:12 PM
Ben,
I am that bored, and there are 2 problems with your list (or my eyes)
#1 - there is more than one mini-yoda
#2 - wtf, I see no Wok!!!
#3- I am lame, I actually looked for them *tear*
35. Dullard - August 23, 2008 3:45 PM
The wok is not a lie!
36. Snot - August 23, 2008 6:55 PM

41. Ben - August 24, 2008 12:47 PM
Thumperchica,
Dammit now you have me looking for a second mini-yoda. Can't find it.
As for the Wok, it's in the Picardboard picture.
You would have gotten a really sweet prize had you found it. Sorry.
42. Pakistan Gifts - August 24, 2008 1:51 PM
I love the robot guy, and the poor cat near that mutant...SICK !
43. Thumperchica - August 24, 2008 3:29 PM
Ben,
2nd pic, top shelf, left figure. I now see the wok, thank you. BTW- just got done watching Clone Wars, worth watching!
44. Momboelitist - August 25, 2008 9:48 AM
It would seem that some of these people spend more money on their fantasy world than on their home decor. I spend on neither.
45. Alli - August 25, 2008 10:20 AM
the chewy one is the best
46. Susanna - August 25, 2008 10:24 AM
the storm-trooper on the phone wins.

AHHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHA
some of those peeps have some swank digs. and some.....don't lol
49. Yewtree - August 27, 2008 11:40 AM
Awesome! That guy really looks like Jean-Luc Picard. I wonder why the family with the Klingon dad had the curtains pulled? I like the one with the cat on the hearth-rug, too. And the kid Darth Vader.
50. STARWARSFREAK - August 28, 2008 6:01 AM
Ok, that kid trying to be Anakin, is STUPID. the rest are great tho, but the stormtroopers take the cake.
51. Lua - August 28, 2008 1:06 PM
hahaha, pretty cool
52. Yewtree - August 29, 2008 5:22 AM
Check these out: http://www.oddee.com/item_96474.aspx - World's Geekiest Weddings - some are also dressed as Star Wars characters.

54. Nunuv Yerbizness - September 3, 2008 1:59 PM
I can't help but remember Shatner's famous "Get a life!" routine from Saturday Night Live. Alas, NBC made Youtube take it down.
55. TechnoPhoebe - September 9, 2008 8:59 AM
Excellent, some of them look a bit scarey, others just a bit sad. The one in red with the cat on the rug is best... nice colour dress :)

mini vader will burn his fingers if he holds his saber like that too much.
58. Mike - November 24, 2008 10:32 AM
This was a great experience to be a part of. It should be noted that most of these people also do this for charities and have used their costumes (all made at their own expense) to raise much needed cash for various charities around the world (for more information visit http://www.501stlegion.org/index.php).
For those with the negative comments, maybe you should consider doing something worth while with your lives instead of mocking those who try to make a difference.
By the way, i am the guy in the AT-AT pilot suit (last pic). And for those who liked the cat with the Imperial Guard..... she's mine! Thats Joe in my living room as the Imperial Gaurd
And yes the eyes on her are real!!! and not photoshopped like some think they are
