Jul 10 2008Rock-afire Explosion Band For Sale On eBay!

Well after yesterday's exciting Rock-afire Explosion post, a loyal tipster has notified me there's a set for sale on eBay. And it's only $14,000!
Showbiz Pizza Rock-afire Explosion Complete Show for Sale!Complete 3 stage show with curtains and curtain rods. Show is mostly restored and ready to install at your location.
Of course, there are a few things about the auction that concern me. For starters, the seller only has 50% positive feedback for the past year. In one instance it was claimed they never sent an item that was paid for.
I Never Received Merchandise- Refund bounced. No Response from Seller
In another, they backed out of purchasing a car.
Car was misrepresented in ad; had to turn off with a screwdriver & more problems
Ha, the old bait and screwdriver ignition switch, freaking classic. No, but what really worries me is this: I've got the distinct feeling this particular band was used to lure kids into some guy's basement (more pics after the jump). After all, no child can resist free pizza and a couple songs played by the Rock-afire Explosion. And, as I learned years ago, some creepy dude trying to touch your butt doesn't seem all that awkward after watching their performance.
Hit the jump for the rest of the pictures and a link to the auction.

Thanks to Zach, who is pooling with his officemates to purchase the band. Can I come over on my birthday?

Oh man! I used to watch this band as a kid at the local Pistol Pete's in Las Vegas. Everytime that curtain opened up I'd stop playing Street Fighter II to watch. Classic.

Honestly I'd be worried about Shipping & Handling charges and room to put the band. Maybe if they had the Heizinga's Foodtime band, them maybe there'd be room. (And yes it's like that band, but in a smaller setting and it actually was the center of the fruit/produce aisle of the grocery store)

Damn those things are creepy as hell. I'd set them up in my living room and put them on a timer or something so they'd go off at random, especially when somone's alone in the room or watching a scary movie. For a bonus I'd change the music to the one of those freaky songs where the singer has a little kid voice.

I'm with 9 & 10. The gruesome chicken in a pot of boiling tar would make a better Halloween decoration. Or Pamela Anderson could harrass KFC with it.
Either way, this stuff is not suitable for children.

I miss that showbiz pizza. Wasn't that from over twenty years ago?

@6
And you type like you're twelve. God damn. Hit the two damn extra keys, it won't kill you.
Also, SF II came out in '91. I'm 21 and I remember playing it in the arcade.

I remember going to the 'Nickel Arcade'. It cost $5 to get in and all games were a nickel. That place was badass, took me a few weeks to save up the cash every time. I beat 'Captain Commando there.

I am personally fighting (aka: begging) for our company to purchase this as our official office greeters.
Zach might as well step down now. Rockafire is as good as mine.

So aparently MGMT is a big fan of the Rock-a-fire explosion because they are featured in their "Electric Feel" video. They show up towards the end of the video.

Oh man, there was a playplace in Brooklyn that had almost this exact setup in their basement. I forget the name of it but my mom used to take me there all of the time when I was a kid and this "band" scared the shit out of me and gave me nightmares. If you think it looks creepy in pictures, it looks like a creepy karaoke version of the Disney Country Bear Jamboree when it plays. There's gotta be a video of it somewhere...

Whoops, someone already posted the videos- my bad.
