Jul 29 2008PWNSOME!: Zelda Ocarinas For Sale

I know Zelda ocarinas have been available for awhile now, because I bought one at a street fair two years ago, but these ones from Thinkgeek actually look sharp and worth the $40.
Product Features
* Real playable Ocarina lets you re-create your favorite Zelda tunes
* Made from glazed earthenware
* 6 Holes, Plays notes from C4-D5
* Includes song book with instructions on playing several Zelda tunes
* Tri-Force Logo adorns the stem
* Made in the USA
I paid $40 for the one I bought and I'm pretty sure it was made out of Sculptey and had the holes punched through it with different sized pens. It didn't help the dude was selling it right alongside Zelda themed pipes and bongs. Despite my better judgment, I was *this close* to buying a Goron Bomb Bong. But I wised up and went with an Ocarina of Thai pipe.
Hit the jump for a closeup and a couple videos of people playing the Song of Time (one kid is even dressed like Link) on an ocarina. If you like it just do a search on Youtube, you can pretty much find every Zelda song covered.

Thanks to Vivienne, the Zelda to my Link, for knowing how much I love all things Hyrulian.

Hate to break it to you but https://www.songbirdocarina.com/ has been producing ocarinas of time for at least 8 years now ;) (basing it from when I got mine)
The blue OOT can be found under sweet potato ocarinas.

From the look on the face of the second guy I expected something like a super cool, extra heavy guitar riff... but... erm... just LOL.
I just decided that playing ocarinas is not cool. At all.

Ok, sense I'm gonna assume im the only real ocarina player here, its a hole clay ocarina from sonbirdocarina.com . It's actually only one of MANY different ocarinas by the seller, and there are also a 5 hole, a 6 hole larger size, a bass 12 hole and many pendan ocarinas, which i personally dont like. Songbird advertises in Nintendo Power, and you've probably seen this before. My advice, if you want a good looking, easy ocarina, go with this one. If you want an ocarina that sounds awesome, but sacrifices beauty go with maparam.kr and if you want somethin in the middle, check out some of the sweet (zelda)ocarinas you can find at www.stlocarinas.com . They have some really nice zelda models.
This ocarina is good for zelda fans, but not so good for actual players like myself. For more information on the ocarina, check out the forums at:

Peace

I have one, and though I just like playing random Zelda tunes on it for fun, and not play it "professionally", take not that these are extremely well-made ocarinas. Though I got mine from Songbird Ocarina (the guy in the first vid's store). Verstand will be right about it not being fit for actual players, but for novelty value it's very nice, and it still sounds very nice.
If you're a big Zelda fan then it's not a waste of money, if you're looking for a "proper" ocarina for long-term practice etc, then Verstand ^ knows the deal. :)

First and foremost, I f-cking hate the word pwnsome. (Personal reasons...someone I know actually says it on a regular basis.)
Anyway! It does look sharp, I'll have to order one...:D

If I could buy one thing that was in the Legend of Zelda, it would probably be the Mask of Truth. I would spend all my free time talking to animals.
