Jul 22 2008Drunk Driver Blows 0.491, Is Still Alive

No, it wasn't me. I don't drink and drive. I drink and walk. And already have enough trouble with that. Stanley Kobierowski though, he's another story.

Stanley Kobierowski, 34, of North Providence, was arrested after he drove into a highway message board on Interstate 95 in Providence, Maj. Steven O'Donnell said.

Smooth move, dipshit.

The legal limit in Rhode Island is .08. A blood alcohol of .3 is classified as "stupor," .4 is "comatose" and .5 is considered fatal, according to the health department. "Our only assumption could be that the person has a serious alcohol problem," O'Donnell said.

Uh, yeah, amazing assumption there, Major O'Donnell. Really, you sure he's an alcoholic and not just a robot that runs on gin?

Seriously though folks, no drinking and driving. I'll call you a taxi or come and pick you up myself if I have to. Because if I catch another one of you floundering around in my pool after you've driven through the fence and off the diving board, I'll kill you myself.

UPDATE
: That's not a picture of his accident. That's just something I found on the interwebs to use as the picture.

Driver Charged With .491 Blood Alcohol Level [wbztv]

Thanks Mark, and like I said before, I wasn't in Rhode Island this morning, I swear.

Wow...I haven't been that drunk since I was twelve

Ok I lied...I haven't been that drunk since this morning

How is he not dead, I wonder if this was done by Breath test or Blood Test, because breath tests can be inaccurate if the alcohol was consumed very recent and still remains in the mouth.

well I gotta say if that's a picture from his accident and he did drive through a sign then it probably was a little while before the cops got to him to do a breath test

That's nothing see this:

Granted, it's old, but still impressive.

Damn. The guy in #5's post is insane. 0.914?? wow.

This RI guy is a wanker and should be allowed to be in a secluded place to end himself. It'll happen sooner or later, as per Darwin.

..after you've driven threw the fence...LMAO... threw....too cute, maroon.

holy bajesus!!

#5's post is pretty astounding

holy crap .914? That man deserves a medal. He'd probably die if you took him to AA, body wouldn't know what to do without alcohol

Thank god, #7.
I thought I was the only one who had noticed.

ha, i remember mr. geek refrencing that guy in another post

now I want an award

if a guy is able to actual open a door, climb into his car, turn it on and start driving at that alcohol level, then the legal limit is way too low. dude is supposed to be in a coma and he's drivin' around fine and dandy

Futurama reference? Loved it!

I went to a class on DUI - average blood alcohol reading for the 8 law enforcement agencies was a 0.17%, average breath alcohol reading was a 0.14%. Highest I've ever seen was a 0.52% for a blood alcohol reading.

Take care when you are driving on a Friday or Saturday night or on holidays. These are the busiest times for DUIs. The cops only pull over a very small percentage of drivers who are impaired by drinking alcohol.

#3 - if the breath alcohol test is done on a evidential breath testing instrument, there are safeguards to prevent a false reading due to alcohol trapped in the mouth.

I once got so drunk I vomited into the crotch of my jeans whilst having a shit. That's where the ftw is at.

if he blew Officer .491, why was he arrested?

If anyone has ever lived in Rhode Island, you'd realize this is no big deal. They are the worst drivers in the country, so you wouldn't get stopped until you crashed off the road. The first of almost no cops on the road probably didn't stop him because he had ten expiration stickers all over his back license plate to prove how long he's lived here...... sorry this state sucks

today a trucker was arrester here in Brazil with 0.8

I dont know if the same measure

yeah, I've heard that percentages work differently south of the equator

I'm from Providence, and my I just say that none of this is surprising, from the belligerent drunkeness to the stereotypically Irish cop. classic.

@19: Ha ha. You mean, like how the water in the toilet goes the opposite way when you flush?
