Jul 7 20081-UP Mushroom Burgers Are Green, Spotted

If there's one thing I love it's video game inspired food items. So these Mario 1-UP burgers are right up my alley in my pie-hole. All you need to do is dye your bun tops green with food coloring, melt some mozzarella circles on top, and presto: nobody will touch your burgers. And you know why? That green ketchup that Heinz was trying to peddle back in 2000. Scared the hell out of kids. It's a known fact: kids hate vegetables and all things green. Well, until they hit high school and start experimenting with marijuana. Then green is cool.
Hit the jump if you really want to see what two dyed buns sitting on a granite countertop next to a bowl of green food coloring look like. Hint: think animal dung.

I remember when green was cool. Hell I've added green LED's to my car in various places in the past...the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are green, Popeye's spinach was green, even the very ooze that mutated said turtles was green. And I'm sure everyone remembers when Nickolodeon started doing the things with their green slime stuff.
In any case, I think these rock and would eat them.

I'd eat it if it gave me an extra life. And let's face it, if a little green food colouring puts you off a burger, I'd really recommend not finding out what goes into the rest of the meal.

Maybe it's just the Food Network watcher in me, but maybe instead of food coloring they could actually make it more delicious and green at the same time with some sort of pesto wash or something. I could see pesto being pretty damn delicious on a burger.

It's not the green shroom-top that would put me off, but the wierd blobular off-white filling.

dude, i loved that green ketchup. i used to bring it with me to denny's so other people in the restaurant would freak out when i was eating my fries. but they went too far with the purple ketchup. there's a line, and they crossed it.

I remember the purple ketchup. Jesus christ, that shit was terrifying. Didn't they realize that warm colors are more appealing to one's palette?
And therefore, the person who made these should have done a super mushroom.

Finally a post I can sink my teeth in to!
Seriously though, readers. I have nothing or worth to add to anything. I just keep posting because I can't move away from the computer unless it's via forklift.
