Jun 27 2008Little Origami Crane Constructed Using The Ultra Precise Da Vinci Surgical Robot
This is a video of a Japanese surgeon using the Da Vinci Surgical Robot to construct a little origami crane. I had no idea Leonardo had robotic hands, but like my dad always says, "Son, you're a fucking idiot." The feat is all the more spectacular when you see the size of the crane at the end -- it's only as big as a penny! Fly on, little origami crane, fly on. I don't know about you, but I think this Da Vinci robot is really gonna revolutionize origami implants.
Thanks Shuck from Germany, say -- if I come over there you think I could sleep on your floor? Maybe drink some of your beer?

I'll have to buy one of these robots for the prickwife, so she can finally handle my microscopic genitalia.

Oh great, even though this robot was controlled by a man, the last thing we need is another super capable piece of machinery to further aid the metallic race in their future domination and destruction of the human race.
Yes, it will help save lives now, only so that they may be enslaved and serve after the uprising.

Somewhere Brian Chan just folded himself an origami robot blaster.
This time - it's personal.

That's not a Crane! It's a motherf*&^$#@ing Pterodactyl. And why am I so pissed off?!??
And was this an actual surgeon who made this Pterodactyl? Hmmmph. You'd think he could have at least fashioned a Triceratops.
Am I qualified to operate, using this DaVinci arm, as a healthcare provider (to patients with capitated plans, of course) if I can make the set of all 13 origami Jurassic Park characters?

That's not impressive at all. I can create origami cranes smaller than pennies with my fully human, non-robotic bare hands (which even by human standards are massive).
And this guy-

-completely puts Da Vinci's origami powers to shame.
It looks like the robots have a lot more work to do if they plan on taking over the world any time soon.

hey, what about your hatred towards robots..lol

That's nothing. I'd like to see it make a tiny paper captain's hat. Everyone knows that's the most difficult origami construction ever conceived.

I'd like to see it try folding this

and then watch as it melts from the awesomeness.

I can't say that the little robot arms making a paper crane isn't cool.
I mean, when does anything involving robots be considered not cool?
But I've made the same thing 5 times smaller with my own hands.
So find me someone(or robot) who can make a paper crane that can fit entirely on a dime, I wanna shake their hand(or robot arm type thing).

so easy to do with your bare hands. whoop-dy-doo.

Yeah, it's just a small little origami crane that's easy as hell to make, but thats not what the video is about. This was done to show off how precise and smoothly the robot operates/handles.
