Jun 23 2008Cool: Take A Bath Under The Stars Without Exposing Yourself To The Elderly Neighbors

The Homestar Spa by SEGA Toys turns your bathroom into a planetarium whenever you're taking a bath. You just fill up the tub, strip down to your birthday suit (or a towel if you're a prude like the chick in the photos), and hop on in. Then, with a flick of its switch, the $70 unit instantly fills your bathroom with hundreds of trillions of millions of "stars". Not feeling stars tonight? No problem, flip the unit over and hit the switch again to fill the bottom of your tub with a, uh, bloody mess.

Thanks to Julian, who calls the model in the photos despite her obvious prudishness.

Que romantic!

looks like fun

Now that is cool. I would love something like that...just like I want the home-made dunebuggy and bantha/jawa slippers. Someday; someday.

THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER. I AM APPALLED. I HEREBY BOYCOTT SEGA FOR MAKING THIS TRAVESTY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO OFFENDED IN MY LIFE. SURE IS HARD TO TYPE WITH MY PINKER FINGER ON THE SHIFT KEY, IF ONLY THERE WERE AN EASIER WAY..

Does it work in the shower? I never bathe.

If you use one of these, does that make you a Homestar runner?

Gives a new meaning to consummation under the stars... No need for the sandy beach, just the nice warm bathtub. Even better the indoor hot tub!
I wonder... does the tub planetarium have "Swinger " mode?

@ 5. The Imaginary Reviewer ... i hope you mean you never take a bath... never bathing... Peee Uuu!!!

@8: For your information, I shower every month, whether I need one or not.

@6 I actually did laugh out loud, damn now the coworkers are looking at me funny... again

this would be awesome if I ever felt the need to sit in a tepid pool of my own filth....

Ok...so space and science museums have had these things for many years now...this one is special because...it...floats?

Another way to bathe under the stars is to have the glow in the dark stars, also sold at space/science museums.

"Science Rules!"

I am getting one. I am going to turn off all the lights and bathe in outer space.

2008: A Space Feckless. - the year she makes contact.

I realize that they wanted to show the product in action, but having the model sit in the water while wearing still a towel just makes this thing look ridiculous. Now, I'm not saying that I need to see her cash and prizes or anything, but a little reality would be nice. Gees, cover her up in bubbles or something if you have to. A bubble bath and stars? What's not to love there? :)

why is she taking a shower with a towel?

Wow, that will make my mushroom-trips interesting!

@15, for obvious reasons, it's an ad and it has to be decent, duh?!

aaaaand, that's not actually a "mess" (although it does look like one), i went to check out longer articles and that's a light projection to make the water look like roses.
