May 2 2008Zombie-Apocalypse Survival Truck Is Out Moonlighting As A Storm Chasing Vehicle

Somebody took these pictures at a gas station in Kansas. They show what is allegedly a tornado chasing vehicle (they're hot on the tail of that one that got Dorothy). Now I've never watched Twister, mostly because tornadoes scare the shit out of me and I was born with a monster vajhyena (its bark is worse than its bite), but I doubt Helen Hunt was driving one of these. Was she? I didn't think so. So, that leaves only one question left to be answered -- what is this vehicle's true identity? Does the government know something we don't? Are the zombies coming? Because if they know the zombies are coming and they're not telling us, that is f***ed the f up. And I'll be damned if the zombies munch my brain. That's why I'm stealing my neighbor's truck tonight and starting construction of my own zombie assault vehicle. I'm mostly just gonna weld a bunch of sheet metal to the body, but I may opt for a flame paint job if it turns out good. Oh, and I'm going to make a bunch of custom bumper stickers with clever zombie-related slogans. Stuff like "Brain: Not the other gray meat you stupid asshole zombies", and "If you can read this you're unusually smart for a zombie but I'm still about to back the f*** over your head".
Several more pictures for your apocalyptic-viewing pleasure, after the jump.

It's from the show "Storm Chaser's" on Discovery.

clean up some of the armor plating and it would look kinda like the Tumbler, could be sweet...

Jae's right.
The show fluctuates between awesome and painful, but stays on moderately-more-entertaining-than-anything-else mode for most of the time. The friggin thing has an IMAX camers wedged inside it and they wanna drive into the heart of a twister and film inside it.
To impress chicks, probably.

This is what happens when B.A. Baracus is left to play with an arc welder in some garage in the middle of nowhere.
Add a M60 mount and you will soon hear "I love it when a plan comes together".
That being said, I want one. Lets see my neighbor try to steal my paper now!!!! BWAH HA HA... Oh wait, I don't get the paper.

You may want to loan out that vehicle with optional leash compartment. Zombies are now real. And they've taken the form of your best friend. F***ing scary shit if you ask me. So much for science fiction.

Hmm, I thought that show was canceled but I guess not. Speaking of tornadoes, we have one about to run straight up our asses in Cook county, compliments of our friends up in Wisconsin!
Thanks Wisconsin for the Friday night party cyclone of death!

and people thought I was crazy for my zombie plans. This will show them! Of course my bladed shovel and body armor is a little too creepy to have displayed in my foyer...

I suppose I'll share that I'm originally from Kansas, so this post reminded me of home.
Anyway, I love tornadoes, I find them fascinating...and I'm just going to stop before I start rambling about Kansas weather.
*sigh* I miss home. :(

Whether it be Stormchasers or Twister, the real question is - can it handle having a cow thrown at it with great force?
Is there a Consumer Reports type test for that sort of thing? Maybe with a catapult or trebuchet? Maybe a side of beef or 10 or so rump roasts? Maybe a ham or two?
Screw it, I'm just getting hungry now!
Maybe it's more of a Mythbusters type test.
Note: these test results are probably also translatable to zombie worthiness..

100% certain that's the new TIV-TIV2 to be certain.

It's invisible to radar, they used stealth bomber technology to make it super undetectable.... though, stealth is totally a wasted skill when you are chasing tornadoes.
13. notbob - May 4, 2008 1:31 PM
this looks smaller than the first TIV.

You know, that seems like a stupid idea until a tornado stars spitting out a bunch of zombies... then this is the shit.

WTF, zombie apocalypse? I just traded in all my zombie stuff for resistance supplies in anticipation of the robot uprising! Dag nabbit, I need consistent doomsday predictions. I'm going back to Revelations, this internet thingy is too fickle.

..and it has a KICKER system in it too! Storm chasers must love BASS!

If only there was some kind of Bi-ocular device that one could use to see a tornado from a safe disance instead of needing a APC to take a close peek.

"Zombies", that's so un-PC. You get the correct strain of the so called West Nile Virus and see what you look like in a couple of weeks. Not funny at all and someone has got to clean up the mess, keep things all neat and tiddy, so everyone else feels good about doing the daily thing.
The thing about the "zombies" is they don't even try to go for the brains. Just think of a tweaker with no energy. We guess that the whole brains thing comes from the fact that the grey ones don't have the energy to go low and all they do is bite, which puts their target head high.
And hell we got to pretend we're doing something right?Roam the Mid-west for thousands of miles, what better way? Storm chasing, perfect, and Discovery even foots the bill.
What! we do it for the chicks, Adam Box?! The people that come up to us are males, ages 8 to 60. Girls run. Better intuition, I guess.
Anyhow, just wanted to put things straight.
Also, please put on the mosquito rapellant, makes our jobs a whole lot easier.

It would work, but I would add a bigger front bumper similar to an old steam locomotives cow bumper. You'll need it to push aside wrecked cars on the road as well as zombie hordes. - zombierepellent.com

The show was not canceled it's just the fact that although tornadoes can happen at any time they mostly happen in the spring and that is when they chase 'um and now that tornado chasing season is over this year the show is showing again. Remember tornadoes are unpredictable and require the right conditions for them to form. it's not like studio tv shows with scripts and sets.
