May 6 2008Geek Flowchart From The New York Times

This is a flowchart from The New York Times that explains that if you're exposed to Dungeons and Dragons too early in life you end up developing an intense relationship with computers and never get any sunlight or chicks. It's pretty accurate. Especially the part about LOLCATS, those little guys are just too precious. And I love they way they talk. HAY I IZ IN UR POST BEIN CUTEZ. See, that was my cat. Just kidding, they don't ever talk. They just shit on the guest bed, which the dog eventually eats.
NOTE: To the friends that stayed at our place this past weekend, that was totally a joke*.
* Psyche, you nasty!
geek flow chart is way too accurate [technabob]

It's old, but it is oh, so true. Sunlight, girls, just two things I was deprived of during my D&D years.

Still think that whole sunlight thing is overrated.

That explains so much.
But its not like I missed out on anything, there are tons of girls out there. At least I see them when I go to the store.

hell yeah!! i totally skipped D&D for the sunlight and girls! :D
and yes, LOTS OF THEM!

I've done a flow chart or two in my day and this one is to busy. Therefore I officially denounce it as accurate as it may be.
Now, lets get back to a sexual theme, shall we?

did anyone else notice the bottom left hand corner "blogging about diagrams"

You know (I might as well come out with it) I am a Harry Potter and LOTR nerd. I admit it...however, I never played D&D. So I have to wonder if it is the D&D or if it's some other factor that gets someone interested in "nerdy" activities.
And no, I'm not into Harry Potter just for Daniel Radcliffe; well, he's not my only reason anyway. Large part of it, perhaps, but not the sole reason.
And no, I'm not into LOTR because I would love to be a Fellowship groupie...well, ehherm, that's not the only reason.
But again, I don't think D&D is the activity that sends one down the road of nerdiness.

You can tell this chart wasn't made by a real nerd, at least not one that knows a damn thing about flow charts.

Not to be the grumpy feminist here, but aren't straight women allowed to be geeks too? I call "man-o-centric male-ocracy" on this one.
10. wiinja - May 6, 2008 12:47 PM
fur con...lol
11. SmokingGirl - May 6, 2008 1:19 PM
It's from "The New York Times", what do we expect?
And you better watch out, Lilby, you mention the word "feminist" around here and it makes some of the guys cranky. Because, you know, we might ask for equal pocket protectors or something. HA!
I think they're just pissy because "geeky" women still get laid...*waits for the stoning*
12. ubee0173 - May 6, 2008 1:35 PM
how long does that poo sit on the guest bed if the dog "eventually" eats it?
13. masterless - May 6, 2008 2:22 PM
LoL at #4 and how he had to post about getting "lots" of girls in this blog. Im going to assume its quite the opposite and that he in fact has a LOLCATS screen saver.

That should be called a non-flow chart....because....it doesn't flow. Or maybe I'm dumb.
15. boredom - May 6, 2008 4:45 PM
well the chart definitely doesn't flow and actually looks like ass. I completely skipped D&D and think it's retarded but I never got sunlight (see: worked in the NYC clubs) and I did get girls. Where the formula for this one? Sunlight is really overrated, D&D is stupid and it should really all just come down to girls, did you get them or not. I'm a geek and I get girls and I get to blow shit up all the time. NY Times should be shot for this one

This is not a flow chart its a map of my life-who got this out of my hidden basement computer room?
18. Beowulf - May 7, 2008 7:56 AM
This is inaccurate for people born AFTER D&D. I had to rely on imagination, Lego, pencil and paper for my home-made D&D-like adventures!
I probably invented my own form of D&D back in the mid-90's just because I WASN'T exposed to it.
19. Dunc.L33T.G33K - May 7, 2008 11:15 AM
Dude I don't understand this whole I played D&D so I got no chics and stayed out of direct sunlight.
I played a crap load of D&D at night, surfed during the day and had many steamy relationships between the two :P
D&D is not an excuse to hide away from the world.
20. Jazzman - May 7, 2008 11:45 AM
they have no clue who geeks are... we run the eff'n world and play games at the same time!!!
