Apr 22 2008Sad: Death By Misinterpreted Text Message

text-messages.jpg

Ermine and Ramazan Çalçoban were a Turkish couple going through a separation. Like any normal unhealthy couple, they continued to harass the shit out of each other via text message. Until one day Ramazan sent a text message that, thanks to his cell phone not having a "closed i" (ı) character, proved disastrous.

The use of "i" resulted in an SMS with a completely twisted meaning: instead of writing the word "sıkısınca" it looked like he wrote "sikisince." Ramazan wanted to write "You change the topic every time you run out of arguments" (sounds familiar enough) but what Emine read was, "You change the topic every time they are f***ing you.

WARNING: Sad story follows.

Uh oh, not good. Emine showed the text to her father, who called Ramazan and threatened him for insinuating his daughter was a dirty strumpet. Ramazan shows up confused but ready to apologize, and is stabbed by Emine's father and two sisters. Badly injured, Ramazan tried to escape while Emine attempted to finish him off. At the door he managed to pull a knife out of his chest and stab her before fleeing into the street, where he was picked up by police. Emine bled to death awaiting an ambulance. Ramazan, still confused as to what happened, killed himself in jail.

Damn, like a modern Romeo and Juliet.

R.I.P. Ermine and Ramazan.

It's not sad. It's Darwinism.

Whens the sad part?

The lesson to this story is stop texting in towelhead turkish and learn a decent language like 'merican.

how bout just stop shanking people. that would be even better.

Wow. That was quite the story. Makes mine about how a bf broke up via text seem rather lame :-/ Maybe I should have stabbed him?

I guess that's how they roll in Turkey.

Speaking of Turkey, I think I'll make a sandwich.

Damn, that's just, damn

Further proof that text messaging is f***ing stupid!!
::tears hair out with frustration::
Why don't people write letters anymore, or actually speak face-to-face?!?
::deeeeep breath::
That being said, i second that R.I.P. sentiment. :/

The word for "fucking" is almost identical to the word for "arguments" ?--------------I smell Game Show gold!! What channel is the Turkish station?

And the 2008 Darwin award goes to...

First of all, I'm never going to Turkey. And secondly, this isn't all that sad. More of a cleansing of the species. Oh, and thirdly, texting is ridiculous and people resort to things such as:
i <3 u!
*rolls eyes* Gay.

I've never sent a text message in my entire life....except for that one I <3 U SG. But that's it!

Actually, why even have a cell phone if you're not going to talk on it? If you can't afford the minutes then don't get a phone. It's like buying a car and then pushing it around because you can't afford gas. Which reminds me, I'd better get moving as I've got to push this Escalade to work and back, uphill, both ways.

Wow...Why'd he get sent to jail...Better yet why'd he kill himself

R.I.P
)=

I <3 u 2, Scott!

And actually, this is kind of funny, I just bought a car, but it's manual transmission. Now granted, I learned on a stick, however, since it's been so long, I've forgotten how to actually drive a manual.
But hey, I'm practicing...but I haven't actually "driven" it yet to, you know, WalMart. I do <3 my new car though; I just wish I could drive it. HA!

Whats sad is the amount of racist comments on this page.towelhead turkish?learn a new language?cleansing of a species?
you've got to be kidding me...get a life people.

The "cleansing of the species" wouldn't be a racist comment since ALL races are included in the sapien species (homo being the genus). It would be more of a eugenics comment, or a Darwinistic comment. But good try at trying to be morally superior, April. *applauds*

turkey is a great country. rather forward thinking in race relations, adequate ways of dealing with relationship breakdowns, and great coffee. (i'm not mentioning the hash, as i stopped smoking weed and it's relations 5 years ago)

you should visit.

SG: My next question is obviously why did you buy a manual if you only drive automatic? Must have gotten some great deal.

See, bad spelling CAN get you killed!

Stay in milk kids, drink your school!

Scott, I did get a good deal, but also I've wanted a manual for awhile now. You have more control, less cost for transmission fixes (if needed), and so on and so forth.
So it might seem "silly", but once I get the hang of a manual, it will become like second nature.
The car is also really, really cute. Just like you. :)

@2 I cant say if ur saying learn Mexican or learn american (which i dont think u mean as theres no such language) unless of course you mean English

Obviously, you meant the whole human race.Cleansing of a species is what Hitler attempted to do, but yeah ok, you can justify it as much as you want.

The letter "u" does not equal the word "you". They sound the same, but you'll never see me texting about how I kicked the ball around with my baby buoy.

But I digress, I have to run my buoy to soccer practice in the car. Yabba Dabba Doo!

The Jews were not a species, they were a race. We are ALL homosapiens, not just a few of us, ALL of us, no matter the skin colour, race, religion, or creed. ALL.
Homo is the genus, sapien is the species, and we are ALL sapiens (modern man is the sapien species) within the homo genus. So no, Hitler did not try to rid us of a species, he tried to rid of us a race.

And that is my public service announcement of the day.

Wow so everyone on here are mean people. Texting from one person to another is a hell of alot faster then calling and waiting for it to ring 75 times and not having the person pick up. You know some bisnesses do that to keep in touch they text back and forth from floor to floor. god the make fucking technology for a REASON.
