Apr 23 2008Jessica Rabbit Is Hot Despite Not Being Real
Remember the "human-like" versions of Mario and Homer from a while ago? Well pixeloo is at it again, this time with a smoking hot Jessica Rabbit. There, I said it. She's not real and she's hot. Can you see what I'm doing now? I'm doing that thing that the cartoon wolf does where his eyeballs pop out and his tongue rolls onto the floor because he's staring at a hot chick. That's what I look like right now. The cats are getting scared. Anyway, there's Jessica Rabbit with "realistic lighting and textures." Say, have you ever watched the scene in Who Framed Roger Rabbit on laserdisc frame-by-frame to see Jessica's, ahem, rabbit? Yeah, me neither.*
*Unless doing it when you're 12 counts, which it totally doesn't.
Another side-by-side comparison shot of Jessica, and a link to the urban legend page that references the scene I'm talking about (with pictures!), after the jump.

Okay, that's so wrong on so many levels. First, it's like daaaaamn! Then it's like, okay, she not real doofus. Then it's like, well neither is Pam Anderson. Which brings me back to daaaaamn! Then my head spins around and explodes.

6. em - April 23, 2008 12:09 PM
it's still too creepy for me. the eyelids look funny in a way that you don't notice in the cartoon form.
7. jessee jackson - April 23, 2008 12:09 PM
looks like her eyelid is waaaay out of proportion.
not doing anything for me.
8. eye popping - April 23, 2008 12:12 PM
you guys are right, I didn't notice her eyes because I was staring at her tits, but yeah they're weird. if she opened them they would be WAY too big. i suggest keeping your eyes on the rack for optimum viewing pleasure.

11. pj - April 23, 2008 12:37 PM
this one is horrible. the skin has no realistic texture like the others. it looks like a more modern cartoon
12. Also - April 23, 2008 2:14 PM
Her eyes are huge, that would freak me out. Get her a paper bag.
13. SmokingGirl - April 23, 2008 2:27 PM
Rocking body, fugly face. That is all I'll say about this.
14. constant drama - April 23, 2008 2:50 PM

15. Another john - April 23, 2008 2:52 PM
Mario and Homer looked cool. This looks like airbrush. And airbrush isn't cool anymore.
16. Scott - April 23, 2008 3:40 PM
Her eyelid seems a bit obtrusive.
17. damn luddites - April 23, 2008 4:00 PM

18. SlowMonkey - April 23, 2008 5:38 PM
I remember the movie, I just don't remember Jessica being a Chola.
19. tp - April 23, 2008 5:57 PM
angelina jolie on crack
20. moka - April 23, 2008 7:24 PM
she still looks like a cartoon to me, i mean the texture does not resemble real skin or anything real AT ALL. only the neck looks real.
maybe if they make a close-up or something.
this suuper sucks! i prefer the mario and homer ones.
21. & - April 23, 2008 7:54 PM
nobody noticed how those freaky lids look like foreskin where it folds?
how gross.
but besides the foreskin lids she's not bad looking, if were talking bout looking realistic, who's got bulging eyes the way homer's got?
22. Kimberly - April 23, 2008 8:23 PM
She looks like a cracked-out whore version of Angelina Jolie.
23. Dr_Freak - April 23, 2008 8:27 PM

24. Kate - April 23, 2008 8:50 PM
Looks like Angelina Jolie o.o
25. dan - April 23, 2008 9:45 PM
In the "real version" she looks like an alien because, as many have pointed out-her eyelid is outta proportion. but yeah there's somthing angelina jolie-esque about this pic. angelina jolie is definatly hotter though AND she's real!
26. Boo - April 23, 2008 10:25 PM
Those are actually terrifying. I'm gonna have nightmares now.

She is the reason I first realised I was into girls AND boys.
I don't care about eyelids/lips/whatever being wrong...

33. pat - April 24, 2008 11:41 AM

36. guate6 - April 25, 2008 3:47 AM
Ok this is interesting. Many people have repeatedly stated that her eyelids are out of proportion. Can you imagine? Making a human-like version of a cartoon out of proportion? Unheard of! Like if they made a life-sized barby...she too would be disproportionate. That's insane.
Folks: Mario & Homer were both highly disproportionate, in fact, of the three, she's the one who looks the best I'd say. Granted her skin does look airbrushed, but then again so do the models on the front of magazines. Oh, and remember, she's NOT real. Granted if she were, she would be one attractive woman in real life (I actually know perfection is unattainable, so I'd take her with her strange eyes).
Either way, the point of it simply how realistic the textures are (not the reality of the skin, but its texture, which I'm guessing is very smooth), and the lighting, which was well done.
37. guate6 - April 25, 2008 3:48 AM
Oh yeah, and the orbits of her skull are entirely too large as well as the glabella, bridge of the nose and the shape of her face is off. WHO CARES. Again, I think it was well done.
38. BlackSamTX - April 25, 2008 10:06 AM
@ #9... that's because the joke ISN"T FUCKING FUNNY.
39. groonk - April 25, 2008 10:51 AM

41. jae cee - April 25, 2008 5:32 PM
Her eyelids are weird, too big lol. Other that that, nice. Unrealistic, but nice.

46. Rei - May 3, 2008 10:12 PM
Okay. Doesn't look too realistic honestly. Sorry
47. disj0inted - May 4, 2008 1:59 AM
People! Seriously!
She's a cartoon character.
Mario and Homer looked great BECAUSE they were disproportioned and contorted-- Now, you're looking at the sexiest female cartoon character ever animated and you're all bitching about how terrible her eyes look?! Jesus Christ, it's perfectly translated to realism! She's not meant to look "proper!"
If it's so messed up looking, let's see ANY of you do better.
Let's play nice now, children. If you don't have anything nice to say, why not keep your yap shut.

Its actually quite a nice translation from cartoon to semi-real charicature.
Contrary to what most people here are saying the skin is actually quite nice looking and passes for real quite easily and has the texture as well. The lighting is what probably is throwing everyone off the idea of her skin but I think it only makes it look better and adds to the effect. And those shadows also push forth the idea of realism here which are working alot especially that long shadow under the hair on her face.
The anatomy is off but its meant to be that way so there's no issues there really, I love the neck and the collar bones too. The large lips and the eye only push forth the message further that this is a charicature,it isn't meant to be a direct human The hair is done very well and just takes advantage of the lighting and the same could be said about the dress covering her breasts. As for the breasts themselves, well, they sell the piece for most who're looking at this, so...yeah.
I'm loving this little project and am hoping to see more of these type of things in the future.

It's a nice piece of work. Some of the reactions to it highlight the problem we have with the real-not real perceptions within our psyche. The only way Jessica Rabbit could be totally convincing in a 'real' sense would be if she actually was a real girl with an outrageous figure. Her distorted features would
simply be the way they were and we'd have to accept them. If she was real it would of course negate the point of her being a 'sexy' toon in the first place as the need for our imaginative input would be taken away. There is something slightly disturbing about a being who doesn't fit within our built in parameters of what looks real and is possible. A real person who is disfigured can create the same sense of unease and disquiet when we see them. They are real but it 'doesn't look right'. Look how agitated some people get when a new girl with a fabulous figure comes onto the modelling scene. Amongst the first comments to fly around are, 'she's fake', she's not real'.
