Mar 12 2008I Want: Transforming Flashlight/Machine Gun
This is a video from SHOTSHOW 2008 of a Magpul prototype that's a transforming flashlight/machine gun.
Looks like a flashlight -- walk your dog, take the garbage out, get the mail. If any problems occur, anything you need immediate action with, you can on target and go with it. It's a folding machine gun. It's very transformer-esque...Folds up into a little compact package. Big enough to put in your back pocket. Fits right in there, you go for your walk. Gets nasty -- get down to business.
I can't remember the last time I needed a folding machine gun to walk the dog or get the mail, but that dude has me convinced I've been living foolishly. I need one of those. Like real bad. What if it "gets nasty" and I'm unable to "get down to business"? That would suck. But in my defense I was thinking just the other day we need more machine guns that can fit in back pockets. But be careful not to confuse it for your wallet! A wallet is highly ineffective at killing attackers. And whipping out your machine gun to pay for a hot dog at 7-11 is a definite no-no.
Thanks to Tyler, who doesn't need a folding machine gun because his fists are lethal weapons, for the tip

Because thats what we need, every freak or spaz to have a fold up machine gun in their back pockets for when things get "Nasty"

Nearly identical to the (functioning) gun the kid had from Robocop 2. I met the gunsmith who made these, more* than one was made.

It's to bad it's a "concept" idea. I think he even mentioned they aren't planning to produce this. You got my hopes up geekology writer!!!

This would really come in handy, seeing as how I live in Africa and need to "get down to business" on a fairly regular basis. Boy those rebels will sure be surprised to find out thats no wallet in my pocket!

Hmm...IF things get nasty while walking the dog...isn't that the point of walking the dog? Have it go out and crap somewhere...oh what, now you're going to shoot old yeller because he made a nasty? Sad.
Or what if another dog comes along the walk and craps right next to your dog, gonna shoot it first?
I guess in his neighborhood, people walk their dogs in banks and 7-11's, so if you're walking your dog there and it starts getting robbed, bam, take care of business.

I can see some idiot, who has just finished "getting down to business", folding it back into a flashlight and shooting his/her face off. Most likely his.

Forget the gun, what about his beard? Seriously, if you can't be trusted to shape your facial hair responsibly, anything you say or do is rendered null and void.

That's a pretty sweet concept, but I wouldn't want to see it out on the market.
It is kind of funny how he keeps pointing it at himself when he's folding it up.

Finally something useful for american children. I am sorry XBOX, you can't compete with this gun.
Ok, seriously, that's a must-have for postmen.

guns dont kill people, people with mustaches kill people.
is that a machine gun in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?
and...see...it's a concept that exists!

Well it maybe a concept idea, but I bet you 1 billlliooooon dollars that the North Koreans and the Chinese will have working models on the production line by the end of the month..

I can't wait until someone attempts at folding it up and shoots themselves in the face. Oh the hilarity!
