Mar 13 2008Pillow Brightens To Wake You Up Gradually

The Glo Pillow is a foam pillow with alarm clock innards. 40 minutes before your desired wake time it slowly begins lighting its integrated LEDs to gently bring you back to reality. Apparently it's a much more natural way to rise in the morning that a traditional alarm. It sure as hell is a better way to get up than the fire bell alarm clock, but maybe not as nice as the Orgasmo Alarm Clock. You know, it's not so much that I love sleep and hate the prospect of a new day that makes opening my eyes in the morning so tough. Nope, it's chronic pink eye.

I wonder if turning it over to the cool side works the same as hitting the snooze button?

This would absolutely not wake me up.
But I want anything that is glowy.

My wife's got a lamp that does this. It's a noisy piece of crap - its lowest light level isn't low enough and it makes this horrible humming sound when lit. The humming has gotten worse over time - so bad, in fact, that it's not the (insufficiently dim) light that wakes us, but the little 'bing' sound it makes when it comes on.

I don't get how this could wake you up, wouldn't your brain get used to the gradual light increase?
Like the idea of it though.

Is it me or does this guys expression freak you out. He looks like he's ready to snap at any moment... Maybe its because of the damn light under his head.
