Feb 11 2008The Hello Kitty AR-15 Is Just So Damn Cute

hello-kitty-1.jpg

A man modded an AR-15 with a custom paintjob to produce one of the cutest guns I've ever seen -- the Hello Kitty AR-15. As you can see it's pink and looks really good. But only in a "I'm totally secure with my manliness" kind of way. And to prove myself I just bit the head off a squirrel. See, all man damnit. That being said, I'm going to start sleeping with one of these instead of my old stuffed bear. Which, incidentally, was a grizzly I choked to death with my bare hands.

Several more pictures after the jump, including a break down and some firing shots.

Hello Kitty AR-15 - evil black rifle meets cute and cuddly [riflegear]

say "hello kitty" to my little friend

Using that type of handle has to be extremely awkward when shooting. You can't get a good grip on the rifle and it'll end up slipping out of your hands.

hilarious.

kudos to luddites

Great now every 10 year old asian girl will be packing

and I'm pretty sure that's not a man....

Yeah, Luddites actually made me lol, Thanks! :D

#1: "Say 'hello friend' to my little kitty!"

#5: The big hands lead me to believe it was a man, but the shiny/long nails made me rethink that.

Strange handle and all, but neat...good work on the paint job. I especially like the the drawing: Rambo meets Hello Kitty.

Oh my gosh I need that

noooo. say "hello kitty" to my little friend

and it the long hair done up in a ponytail that did it for me....

#7: perhaps you don't get the movie reference?

My wife is definitely all-woman. Perhaps this pic will clear that up.

Superevil, it's called a "grip" not a handle and if you have never actually fired a rifle that has a MonsterMan grip how do you know it is awkward or will slip? It does feel a little different at first but is quite controllable and comfortable to use.

Your wife is definitely all-beat.

I've never fired a rifle like that before, but I imagine the grip works in a similar way to holding the magazine rather than the foregrip - encourages you to draw the gun in tight to the shoulder. That's how it seems from looking, anyway.

that is a nice gun!!

"holding the magazine rather than the foregrip"
probably encourages bad aiming as well

#10: c'mon bro, no real man can go through life without having seen a classic like Scarface. So yes I do understand the reference...mine was a failed attempt at sexual humor.

I have to agree with #2 and #15. I've fired an M-16S1 which is very similar to an AR-15. Not being able to wrap your thumb around the pistol grip would be awkward and contribute to bad technique. He's using his middle finger to pull the trigger to compensate. Just screams awkwardness to me.

I'm just wondering why he had the custom grip molded that way. Or if he didn't have a choice.

Otherwise, it is an amazing paint job, especially managing to get the brilliant "new toy" white onto gun metal. I would not be shy at all about having a gun like that. 100% bragging rights.

The grip is like that because it is a CA legal grip.

screw guns the only way to kill something is with a sword! a big sword!- but to each his own, and its a cool paint job.

Old picture is OOOOOOOOLD!

either carebears or strawberry shortcake myself :)

Does this rifle operate? I can’t see the gas tube in any of the pictures. Or did the tube get painted pink too? Anyways awesome rifle, I would love to see one of your camo paint jobs. Happy ARing.

#17, Yes that is my wife shooting - it's just a bit hard to tell with since she is rather covered up. She is NOT pulling the trigger with her middle finger, I'm not sure why you see that.

Yes, the grip is lame but you seem to miss the point behind this rifle. It is a satire of the stuid Assault Weapon ban in CA - the grip and a few other comprimises were made in order to make it legal. It pokes the state legislators in the eye because they thought they had banned these type of rifles. Having said that, It shoots just fine even with that grip - you hold it more like a traditional rifle that does not have a pistol grip.

That gun is hot and the lady shooting it is a total babe. Y'all are just jealous cuz she'd shoot yer brains out with her Hello Kitty pink, California-legal assault rifle and not even break a nail. Haha...

David: "all woman" indeed. Very lovely. I love my asian wife and can't wait to get her to the range (boys are still a little young). She'd freak if I got her your remarkable concept piece. OBTW, I left socal years ago and don't miss that FUBAR state at all. Thanks for sharing your interests....

That grip is not a handle it is a work around to californicate's laws that specifically define something as more lethal because it has certain plastic widgets on it or is black and looks terribly phallic in an escaped slave sort of way. So with that swept back grip and color change the californicans can rest easy that it won't walk out and start killing babies and gang bangers all by itself.
