Apparently they have Darth Vader's helmet on display in the Star Wars exhibit at the Franklin Institute Science Museum I mentioned in last week's Yoda cookie post. So here it is. I'm glad there are pictures of it because I didn't remember it too well from the movie. Sure I can recall the part in Return of the Jedi when Luke takes it off and all, but I was too enamored with the dried and misshapen turnip that was Darth Vader's head to notice anything about the helmet. You remember that head? It looked awful -- kind of like a conehead, but with serious dents and scars. That shit kept me from sleeping for days. And I still won't eat turnips.

Each time I see the helmet I am struck by Vader's shiny nose. Its like he sniffs paint - or likes to be the clown at office parties. Very hard to the paint-sniffing clown Vader seriously. :-)

The exhibit passed by through Chicago a few months ago and I went. It's surprisingly small, I snapped a few photos of the helmet myself.
You'd be surprised at how cheap the lightsabers look up close. Especially Darth Maul's

A few years ago they had a Star Wars exhibit come through the museum in Toledo, OH, and I got to go. I think it was in 2001 though, so only one of the prequels had been released.
They didn't have the helmet in seperate parts when I was there though. They had Vader's entire costume though, that thing was huge. They also had the models used for the ships, which was one of the coolest parts IMO, since you could see how much detail they put into them.
