Feb 1 2008Fishtank Looks Like Habitrail, Wicked Bong

The Silverfish Aquarium designed by Octopus Studios is a gnarly looking setup for your fishy little friends. Each 60 gallon setup is custom made, costs $3,400, and is allegedly self sufficient. I think they're freaking awesome and I want one so bad. So so bad. Almost as bad as I want to live in a human-sized habitrail. Which I would give both my nuts for. It'd have all kinds of funs stuff like rope swings, ball pits, cargo nets and pools. Man that would be so awesome. And by 'man that would be so awesome' I mean I'm stoned to all hell. But it'd still be awesome even if I wasn't, I think. Oh my god I think I just saw Jesus riding a Vespa.
Hit the jump for a closeup of one of the bubbles.

Yeah how the f*** do you clean that? I guess they mean "self sufficient" in the sense that you throw it away your"self" when it gets dirty, and you've got "sufficient" money reserves to buy a new one. Because your stupid and rich if you buy this.
Still must have one though.

Very cool!

How do you get the dead fish out? Disgusting. Yet I still want one.....

@6...Now that's an interesting question! It says it's self-sufficient, so maybe they have little mortician fish that come with it?
8. Meg - February 1, 2008 5:22 PM
Also, I'm pretty sure the fish are photoshopped into that image or something - it's definitley not a good idea to put betas in with anything else, unless you want those mortician fish working overtime.

BONG!

@ 8 It does look Photoshopped. Betta's get along fine with other fish - as long as they're not brightly coloured. (I have a betta with cory's and some otos.) Problem here, is that only the top three bubbles have access to air for him.

Very nice setup. I like my 125 gallon Turtle Mansion, and while this doesn't "beat" it per se, it's still neat.

Caspiterina! E' fantastico questo acquario!!!

@ 10..That's interesting, I didn't know that. When I got mine the pet shop people almost went as far as to make me take an oath not to put it in with other fish. I've also heard a couple horror stories of schoolteachers thinking it would be cute to get the class goldfish a pal, and then return the next day only to find a fin or two of the original fish still with the beta. :) So the brightly colored fish fact is good to know!

Pretty cool. But who would want to even try to clean that properly? Does a python gravel cleaner make it to the bottom sections? :P

how do you get the plants and sand thing in the bottom ? .. or even try to decorate it :S its only fun to look at i think

Cool. A super rich guy I met just bought one for me.

#13: Yeah me too. I have a 125 Gallon Turtle Mansion, where live four turtles (collected throughout the years...all wild), two Tiger Oscars, one goldfish (a feeder fish who never got eaten...he's almost 6 inches long now!), and two plecostamous fish (who've grown quite a bit).
When I get feeder fish, they ask what they're for, no biggie (they know they'll get eaten), but when I tried getting the oscars, wow, I told them I wanted to try to put them in with the turtle (then, it was only two, the older one was about the size of one's hand and the other one fit inside one's palm (and he's still tiny, even today)), and they freaked out...I had to come back, convince them that I had another tank i was putting them in, and that no harm will come to them.
I put them all together, and they were fine...If the turtles try anything, the Oscars are smart and vicious enough to put them in their place.
The feeder? Well he just never got eaten, and is still alive...and the plecostamous, well they're fine too (even though the pet store gave me a bunch of red tape as to where I was putting them). So you see...if you condition your creatures (or "kids"), they can all co-habitate.

Didn't realize being stoned and hallucinating were even related..

wheres the carb?
20. beetlejuice - February 5, 2008 12:44 AM
I'm super-rich so I'll buy it, and then hire someone else to clean it. You poor people have got to start thinking outside the box.
p.s. It's called the "Silverfish"? Type that into Wikipedia. Silverfish are not cool.
