Feb 15 2008Fish Forest Fishtanks Are So Freaking Sweet

I love aquariums, they're so relaxing. I used to have one in my bedroom until the sound of it started making me piss the bed. However that may be worth it to have the beauty of an Adana Aqua Forest Aquariums bedside. They're amazing. However due the incredible plantlife contained in each, they're difficult to maintain. CO2 and fertilizer must be added to the tank, along with grow lights and a special filter system. I think this type of system might also limit the type of fish you can put in the tank, as I only saw tetras in the pictures (I could be wrong about this). All I know is that I want one yesterday. Unfortunately my cats would have a field day with the open top design. I learned this the hard way with the open top mouse cage I used to have.
RIP Professor Squeak, Squeakers, Cheddar, Cheerio, Mighty, Danger, Red Eyes, Mickey, Minnie, Pikachu, Stich, Whiskers, Jujube, Kitty Food, Rascal and Cheeky. You're missed dearly.
Hit the jump for a bunch more of the awesome aquariums, along with a link to their gallery that is a must see if you like there. And no, I've never actually had any pet mice. Those beady eyed bastards scare the shit out of me.

Yeah I put aquatic plants in my turtle mansion once (6' long tank, and lots and lots of water), but my turtles didn't like them. So you see, instead of eating the plants, what do they do? They snip them from their roots, and let them die slowly. I dare not spend a lot on buying underwater grass and other nonesense.
I admit it looks very nice, but It wouldn't do me any good. (proto-)

I had the same problem with my turtles too.....damn things.
I would like to own one of these but I would put fake fish in there so they wouldn't shit the hell out of the tank and eat all the pretty plants lol.
Look at pic 2. See there behind the waterfall? That's where Trisha is now hiding out....

Does anyone need a recipe for turtle soup?

how can there be a waterfall under water?

I don't think its a waterfall per se. I think a filter (I know nothing about filters)/or something that creates bubbles is on the bottom of the tank and the bubbles are just floating up.

@6 & 7 - yes, it is a waterfall "per se" and yes, there can be a waterfall under water. Have you never seen Spongebob?

These look SO beautiful! I always get this weird NEED to have a fish tank, and I will get one, load it up with fish and take wonderful care of it for about three months... and then slowly my interest wanes, I stop cleaning the tank as often as it needs, things start to get grungy and ugly, and eventually I sell it all or give it away. I bet this type of thing would turn into a nightmare jungle in my house.

The same here Monica but, unlike Paris Hilton, I return my fish to the store instead of letting them perish in dirty soup. Perhaps your next fish tank could be designed to look like an apocalyptic cityscape of 2308, less cleaning for you and the sight of dead fish won't stick out like a sore thumb to your dinner guests.

I used to have a fish named Pikachu, too. :D

Technically a waterfall might be possible if it was composed of something heavier than the water itself. But it would look weird, not like a real waterfall. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the one in that pic is just an image pasted on the wall of the acquarium.
