That reminds me of the day I got my first tatoo.. a drunkard who still managed to speak fairly cleary asked the guy at the desk if he would tattoo "the eye of [his] white ball". Took the artist a while before he realized the guy wanted his eyeball tattooed, and mercifully he declined.

Huh... looks like the extensive research they did was actually read up on historical medical data, no mention of animal studies (who in the world would pay for that? Not punks, most of us like animals and want to keep them away from this stuff. Maybe a dye job on their coats...) but if you search it on the internet there was a procedure used for tattooing the eyes of the (already blind) to correct the look of the eyes, and for other reasons (not too clear, but the people weren't blind)
I'd never get my eye "tattooed" tho - it looks more like they are just filling your conjunctiva with dye, and I'd be more worried about the effects of intra-optic pressure on the nerves - like, seriously, I'd be worried about headaches. And it doesn't look clearly delineated, if they came out of it looking like they were on the spice that'd be one thing, but it just looks like their kid came after them with a crayon. Hum...

I think some of them possibly had plans to continue with the procedure in the future as they were indeed hoping to color all of the white blue eventually... but I could be wrong. Tattooing eyeballs is indeed not new and has been done for medical reasons for a long time now. And honestly, what makes sticking needles into any one part of your body compared to another "stupider"? Just because I dislike the idea of needles in my eyeball doesn't make someone who chooses to do it stupid.

well after checking with the BME sites, seems like there haven't been any complications - even doctors reckoning that it's ok. so, yeah, whatever floats your boat i guess.

@19 - Are you serious? Please tell me you didn't sleep through the entire eyeball section of Biology... The pupil is a gaping hole in the middle of your eye. Pretty sure if you fill it in, you would be seeing either a. Nothing, or b. Blue tint on e everything around. Me, I would do it, only black, because my eyes are ungodly blue anyhow. I think it would look sweet....but I dunno. Needles in the eye kinda scare me... I have body mods a lot of other places, and tons of tats, but a needle in the eye is just a tad unsettling for me...

An eyeball is inflated. If it is punctured, it will deflate slowly. The eyeball will in time become noticably smaller than the other one. This prevents sight, the wearing of contact lenses and having a normal looking face.

about 7 years ago I have also tattooed my eye(the retina) because it was, after an accident, totally white.

And after 5 series of a hour they made it look very well. So in Holland are more people who have tatooed eyes.
