Feb 15 2008Dell Employee Taunts Customer, Calls Him A Little Girl. This May Or May Not Be Real.
This is allegedly an "actual leaked phone conversation" between a customer and Dell sales rep. That authenticity can be debated all you want, but I'm posting it anyways. Mostly because Roberto, the sales rep, calls the customer a little girl -- repeatedly -- because the dude backs out of a sale. Now call me a bit extreme, but I would have reached through that goddamn phoneline and ripped Roberto's windpipe out had this happened to me. I swear, where's Officer Rivieri when you need him?

I can't remember....why was it that hiring cube farmers in a third world country a bad idea?
...I just had this discussion with a former Dell employee yesterday hahaha
5. JamBo - February 15, 2008 6:51 PM
This is definitely fake. Who in their right mind would by a Dell? I call shenanigans.
6. SlowMonkey - February 15, 2008 7:09 PM
I call Truth. Dell makes me sick. I've had nothing but trouble from their piece of crap and all their "technicians" are numb nuts.
7. joxer - February 15, 2008 7:39 PM
FRIST!*
8. hoodiemonster - February 15, 2008 11:09 PM
until a few months ago, i worked at a major dell sales faclity for four years and i can tell you that this is 100% real. this phone call has been floating around the cubes since i started there - a classic. im surprised that it is only just being posted here...

Hah! I would have loved to see the interaction between this Dell rep and ex-officer Rivieri (aka: Trisha). That would have rocked!
I believe it's real, I've had stuff happen to me like this, but not with dell (because I agree with #5...who in their right mind (or wrong, for that matter) would buy a Dell? That's why I build all my stuff.
'nuff said
FRIRIRIRIRIST!!

11. Mat - February 16, 2008 5:05 AM
I call fake. Sounds and looks like a group x production if you ask me.
12. hoodiemonster - February 16, 2008 5:14 AM
believe what you want - it doesnt benefit me one way or another. i dont know who did the video, but i assure you that it is indeed an actual call. unfortunately for us though, 'i can believable' can no longer be considered an inside joke.
13. laz - February 16, 2008 5:27 PM
i just thought that was damn funny...now that they don't make ibm laptops like they used to, i may actually have to buy a dell....! lucky we don't get much support for anything in south africa - so i wont have to deal with this geezer on the phone.
14. Sever - February 17, 2008 6:30 PM
Haha, that was hilarious! The pictures with it make it so much more funny!
@11- Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking... : P Prolly not real.

16. GEOFF LEPPARD - February 18, 2008 8:23 AM
"Fonejacker", even.
Three years and still no cunting edit function?
17. Pepper - February 18, 2008 9:41 AM
The voice sounds exactly like the voice in that "Hokay, this is the end of the world" flash video. Anyone??
I promise this isn't like porn - here's the link- http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/end... anyone agree?
18. masterless - February 18, 2008 2:36 PM
its real but thats not Dell. Its probably some local store promotion with an awesome sales guy working for commission. his tactics are crude but his returns are high. not.
this would have been more classic if the sales guy said "don you wanna be big girl? is bad for me if you believable lil girl my cd boner"
19. dley - February 18, 2008 7:11 PM
Not real, checked with a former Dell employee and they didn't do the opening script (verify name, address, try to push a Dell credit card, etc). Of course it could have been edited out.
20. DellPaycut - February 18, 2008 10:30 PM
PROOF this is Dell:
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/audio/play/10314/
The full 6 minute call is unedited and ruder and proves it's really Dell.
This was leaked after Dell rolled out big paycuts and stopped the Employee Stock Plan. Plus Dell is the only computer maker with a call center in Panama.
21. hoodiemonster - February 19, 2008 1:18 AM
dear dley (#19):
this guy calls the customer a little girl. why would he bother reading his scripts? you are f***ing retarded.
22. Michael Dell - February 19, 2008 3:50 AM
yup that call is real when the call first got out a few years ago we had Dell tech go though our hard drives and delete it from our puters.
23. groonk - February 19, 2008 6:56 PM
LOL i can believable. i laugh like a little girl.
seriously, if that shit happened to me, there'd be one less Dell Call Center person in this world.
24. SiteClosureWhat - February 19, 2008 10:13 PM
i have to agree with hoodiemonster.
i heard that call months ago passed around from dell email address to dell email address. it was even in the format that we used to record calls. (still use i assume. i quit two months ago).
25. EMPLOYEE's family member - March 22, 2008 7:23 PM
I believe that this message has been truncated and DELL has told all employees that talk about this issue will result in termination. Peeps dont understand that they are calling India or somewhere to place your orders instead of using AMERICAN BORN peeps to do the same work and raise more AMERICAN families to live the AMERICAN dream, Companies that do this are NOT AMERICAN in any manner. IF peeps that need money to live on would stop for a minute and do some research into the companies that they apply for they would discover that working for places like DELL esp in Nashville are not any further ahead due to the creative accounting practices on how you are paid based on a slide scale or so called "INDEX" or with the new VP in Nasville will only adjust your pay DOWN based on your hard earned sales, Although they wait till they see how much money you have made like in December of 2007 once you have made 300 percent over your quota and suddenly lower your index so that you loose your bonuses. I SWEAR ON GOD THIS IS THE TRUTH. Its hard to understand how they do this creative accounting so that even the Labor Department gets frustrated with them. I DARE ANYONE TO PROVE I AM LYING HERE PROVE that dell goes through hundreds of employees each and every year They even lay off peeps by the hundreds and thousands and then change the requirements of those positions to hire new employees at lower saleries to by pass the Federal requirements to rehire those peeps that have been downsized first. Even those invited to re apply are turned away based on the mear fact that they do not meet the new requirements for the new positions or that someone more experienced was hired. Ask them to prove it and it never is done. Think that MANAGEMENT IS overlooked NOT. Senior and middle level managers are fired at whims of Micheal Dell. There is only approximately two levels between the average joe worker and Micheal SO MR DELL is the man behind all of this junk going on and the exclusive glass ceiling no one can advance too gets fired before you ever get a chance to be a real part of a company, NO wonder no one has a secure job security feeling to do thier best of best always being afraid of loosing their job within a hour or two SERIOUS PEEPS DO THE RESEARCH ASK QUESTIONS see for yourself Its like gas prices we wont stop buying gas so they wont lower the costs. IF WE ALL STOPPED BUYING GAS FOR A DAY OR TWO it would create financial issues to them the same goes for those peeps who stand up to these smucks of CORPORATIONS raping the hard worker because they know some onw will come to work for a few dollars a week. Sometimes its cost you more to goto a job like this than you make in a pay check not to mention no respect and managers snickering behind your back thinking what a smuck you are for being here knowing you wont last much longer than 90 days or so.
26. manuel - March 25, 2008 2:50 PM
was real.. here in Panama city, panama
the sales rep was frustrated and this customer just take him apart
he was fired up of course lol
27. manuel - March 25, 2008 2:57 PM
and yes we have to talk like 'scripted machine' cause dell's regulations
and dell is not the only one with a call center in panama
you can complaint about we are not a native English speaker, but believe me when i say that all techs are even more prepared than American techs. we all have computer science degree, a+, server +, etc...
you ask to a dell tech in Us and more than a half have no college degree, just certifications, but you people still believe you are the best because speak English well???? what the f....
28. manuel - March 25, 2008 3:04 PM
another thing, this was like 3 years ago.. not a fun or joke issue anymore at dell Panama loool, the real translation is 'eres como toda una niñita, chiquilla, homosexual, etc etc'
the customer receive a free computer so he got what he want
he had a flier in front, read it and still didn't know what is the promotion about, just a mor#n customer....
29. martin - June 1, 2009 9:05 PM
