Feb 21 2008Another Awesome House I Will Never Own

The Quetzalcoatl Nest home was designed by the same architect as the Nautilus House featured last week. It's ridiculously ridiculous and I want it so bad but know I will never ever in my wildest dreams get to live in something half as cool (right now I'm living in a Dodge Neon on cinderblocks in a bad part of town, which is approximately one-quadrillionth as cool). So, yeah. Hold on somebody's at my trashbag and tape window. Oh, gotta go, I'm being robbed.
A ton more pictures after the jump, along with a link to the architect's website.

It is just a rip off of Gaudi. Go to Barcelona and look at all the similar architecture. I mean, I understand being inspired but this is just a copy of someone else's ideas....

Man, those Mexicans sure know how to design good style and live in good aesthetically pleasing ways. Granted I know the entire country doesn't look this nice, there are still starving children (and other sorts of people), but it still shows something nice coming from a country...copied or not.
For instance: Scrolling (term given when a person uses a scroll saw). The patterns are there, and hundreds/thousands of people use the patterns and make the designs. That doesn't mean it's copying, it was still difficult, took great care and time to complete, and is still art. Granted you get bigger bragging rights if you make your own stuff up, but it's neat nonetheless.

From the top it looks like a big aqua blue poo. Mexicans with money do stupid things. Case in point; the 20 inch momo rims on my neighbor's 86 Le Baron.

That's one big piece of shit.
It's ugly. I don't see why anyone would want it.

#5: Yeah, Mexicans do that sort of thing...and if you see a pimped out mini van, it's more than likely a Mexican van.

Is it just me or does the fourth picture look strangely phallic?

it looks like there is a little par three in the garden - so it must be cool.

I didn't watch it alot (mostly when my kid was home sick for the day - so maybe I was a bit asleep) but didn't the TeleTubbies live in a place like that?

Agree with daguz: Gaudi ripoff. Picture the same building but imagine the creativity and force of character and intellect to sell this in 1890. Gaudi: most brilliant and innovative architect ever.

@13 - If you covered it in astroturf, it could easily pass for teletubbyland.
