Jan 9 2008About Time: Draft Beer At Your Computer

We've seen refrigerators that cater to beer lovers, and even computer mods, but how about a plain and simple mini draft system to set up next to the computer desk? Introducing the Beertender, a little draft designed to work with the Heineken DraftKegs that came out recently. The thing runs $380, has an LCD readout with temperature and beer quantity left, and will keep beer fresh for 30 days (although anyone that takes 30 days to drink 5 liters of beer shouldn't be allowed to drink). It hits my computer desk in March of this year. And you know what else will be hitting my computer desk in March? My fist when I realize I'm tired of drinking Heineken and Heineken Light exclusively.
If you haven't seen it, I posted the Heineken DraftKeg commercial after the jump. The one featuring the android that I would totally marry if she could produce those kegs nonstop.

Shame it only serves piss-poor beer. The Carlsberg Draughtmaster, which precedes this, by the way, can at least provide you with Carlsberg Export. not much of an improvement, but definitely not some shitty drink with a fat head.

How about Philips PerfectDraft?... Hasn't that one reached the market as well in the US?
Anyway, these are the current kegs in Holland (according to wikipedia):
* Affligem abbey beer
* Amstel (Amstel pilsener, Amstel 1870)
* Brand (Brand pilsener, Brand Urtyp)
* Heineken (Heineken Pilsener)
* Murphy's Irish Red
* Wieckse Witte

"oh and in holland we have 7 or 8 different beers you can buy a keg for this machine for."
Yeah, unfortunately all the beers that are found in holland are shit, poured shitly into wet shitty glasses.

There we go.
Affligem? Only tried the darkest one, but it tastes like prison wine. Chuck a load of fruit in a bin bag and ferment it for a few weeks.
Amstel's wank, gassy and flavourless.
Not heard of Brand.
Heineken's the same as Amstel.
Murphy's is a nonentity.
Wieckse Witte? Lemon? Get fucked. As if it wasn't bad enough that you have to have your beer poured like it's a down's syndromer doing it, you chuck lemon in too?
Muppets. YOU WASTED A WEEK OF MY LIFE AND SEVERAL HUNDRED EUROS.
Nobody ever go to Holland. I dismissed the "dull, boring people, only good for mid-life crises and hooting American teens", and wish I hadn't.
