Dec 21 2007See Through Walls: 'Lobster Vision' Camera

lobster-vision-2.jpg

The LEXID (Lobster-Eye X-ray Inspection Device) is a new camera made by Physical Optics Corporation of Torrance, California. It works in the same way that a lobster's vision does -- "by beaming X-rays, then focusing on the reflection (rather than refraction) of objects." The device is capable of seeing through wood, concrete, steel, and many other materials. They're coming soon to a nosy government near you. I want to get my hands on one, for obvious reasons. You know what I'm going to use it for right? No, not for looking through the girl's locker room wall. Jesus you people are a bunch of pervs. I'm going to use it for good. By looking through specially marked boxes of Pop Tarts for a sweepstakes-winning ticket. I'm going to that Hannah Montana concert damnit, I'll just die if I don't.

Another picture after the jump showing the actual device.

FAKE

(just kidding)

this is pretty cool actually!

Wait, wait, wait...

Lobsters have X-RAY VISION?!?!?

So every time I walk by the tank at the market, they're seeing my... THE SHAME!!!

First off, who the hell is Hannah Montana?? Second, the body style of this device looks like the older camcorders. I don't know to what extent it really works, but I do agree that it's coming to a nosy government near you.

So I did a search on Hannah Montana (Google Knows All), and the first thing that came up was "Disney Channel." So without making judgment, I looked into it. She looks like some 15 year old girl who is in a Disney Channel series. That leads me to believe that you're either really young, or a pedophile.

In any case, I wouldn't mind having one of these devices, lest it cost too much.

I recently heard about a device that detects very heavy minerals, i.e. potentially fissile material, by counting neutrinos. Pretty neat, and, honestly, somehow less worrisome than this thing.

First I'd heard about lobsters having X-RAY VISION too!

Let me be the first to welcome our benevolent lobster overlords....

X-ray vision is overrated, trust me. Shit, I got Lois on the other line. Gotta fly.

Ow! My sperm

LMAO @ #3 and #8.. .priceless

lobsters dont have xray vision....they have a reflective surface inside the eye that beams onto a convex retina, as apposed to our eye which uses a concave retina and a refractive surface, lol xray lobsters that ridiculus.

-id use x-ray vision on hannah montana...

-and I am FORTY! HEHEHEHEHE

Can I buy this camera? How?

How far this camera can xray walls. It have zooming capability or not.

It shows the image in colorful mode or in other mode?
How much it have range of zooming and xray range?
What is its price?

it looks like is going to be an awsome product. I would like to get it :-)

Wouldn't the x-radiation or whatever its called give people nearby cancer?

Does anyone else see a possible medical benefit for such a device. I have to assume that the amount of x-ray radiation that it takes to get an image from this device is far to high for medical purposes, but maybe they can refine it to the point where it's benefits in emergency medical situations surpass the obvious side effects.

Makes me think about bones and his hand held medical scanner.

Sadly I have seen the Hannah Montana tv show. I would be more disturbed if he was interested in her for her singing ability .
