Dec 12 2007OMG, OMG! I Need A Freaking Jet Pack!

We've featured the rocket belt in the past, and even some cool footage from a jet pack convention, and now comes a new jet pack from Jet Pack International! "These turbine jet packs are supposed to have much greater flight time and be much safer than traditional jet pack technology. It is supposed to travel 16km without refueling." Not too shabby. The consumer model will come with all the training necessary to fly it safely and will run $226,000. Damnit! That's a quarter of a million dollars -- I don't have that kind of dough. Maybe if I tell them I don't want the training course I can get it for cheaper. I absolutely must have one though, I promised myself I wouldn't die until I've made love with a jetpack on.
A MUST SEE VIDEO OF ONE OF THEIR EARLIER PACKS IN ACTION AFTER THE JUMP. IT'S AWESOME!

I want... no wait I NEED one. Do they come with a reserve tank just in case?

This is so fake. That jetpack can only go about 8 seconds before crashing to the ground. Look at the video, do they show 1 flight? No. They cut angles like 50 times. That equates to about 50 different flights heh. I exaggerate but its true. That jetpack in the video is just using compressed gas/liquid or something. What turbine are you talking about?
FAKE
sucker

rocket man!
Sign me up! No more traffic jams. Does it come with onboard GPS? Or will I have to mount one to my jet pack?

Fast forward to 2015, when these things are $100 at The Sharper Image and they need to be taken off the market because of people using them as target practice.
Pull!

I am Judy Jetson, Judy Jetson is me. I have officially quit saving for the Yacht/Submarine/Helicopter/Swimming Pool (ala Angelina Jolie) and will use the money for this jet pack. Maybe by the time I have enough, they will be on sale.

I bought one for my sister-in-law for Christmas.
Her first flight will take off on the first floor of the parking garage across the street.

It's not fake, a minute with google would lead you to plenty of sites with the history of rocketbelts. The version pictured can fly for 30 seconds, which I witnessed at the first rocket belt convention.
