Dec 14 2007Make Huge Multi-Touch Screen With Wiimote
In the video above Johnny Chung Lee (from such videos as Spirit Fingers: Tracking Your Fingers With A Wiimote) shows you how to make a huge multi-touch display using a Wiimote and some infra-red LEDs. It's pretty impressive. And you know what else is impressive? The size of the pancakes I had for breakfast, those things were monsters! Just kidding, I didn't eat breakfast. Unless a cigar and a pint of gin counts. Oh and glue, I huffed some glue.

Mmmmm . . . pankcakes. I could go for some of the huge ones at the Griddle Cafe on Sunset. Unfortunately, I live 3000 miles away. =(

Very impressive, I must say. This would probably be the only reason I'd ever get a wii. I'm not quite sure what one would connect the wii to really, but it seems neat.

guate6 - actually you just need the wiimote which you can buy separately for ~$30. Well, that and a computer with bluetooth.

The guy is fat, so as an American manager I will hire him as a technician, then I will hire guys that I think they are cool, pay them ten times his salary and give them all the glory of the invention.
That why "made in America" is number 1.
When was the last time you bought something not made in America, made by cool guys that like to party and hired by smart managers like me? Huh?

#11: wtf? Most of what everyone buys is usually "Made in China." Now if you were being sarcastic, that's alright.

I converted a candy fan pen to an IR pen and wrote up instructions here:

I replaced the motor with an IR led and ate the candy.

Theres a much better way to make a multi touch computer that you dont need to hold an infrared pen. You can make a glass surface with infrared lights shining through it and put the Wiimote or whatever infrared camera you have behind it. when you place your fingers on the surface the infrared light running through it gets reflected towards the wiimote which registers the increased infrared light coming towards it. i think that this way is much better because you dont need to be holding any infrared pen
