Dec 19 2007Liquor Lock Protects Your Precious Booze

liquor-lock.jpg

The Liquor Lock is a little $15 combination lock that's supposed to protect your stash of the good stuff from others. Unfortunately the thing works on the premise of an expanding stopper, which makes me wonder just how safe your booze really is. I do like the idea though, because many a party I've thrown only to find some dick has been sneaking into my hidden bourbon stash. That’s why now I lock all the good stuff in a safe and fill a couple of top-shelf bottles with bleach and hide them in a cabinet. Not only is my bourbon safe, but the jerks who snoop around for the good stuff end up drinking bleach. It's win-win. Me: 1 and very drunk, Thieving bastards: 0 and very dead.

This looks like a waste of money.

First.

Actually, this would make a fantastic Christmas gift for my alcoholic brother with the lousy memory.

i actually like it.

this could actually be useful. it would have kept my alcoholic sister from drinking all my booze. of course I'd have to buy ten of the damn things, making it cheaper to just put a friggin lock on the cabinet.

it's a novel idea and if you have kids that don't listen then it might be useful but more importantly I absolutely love the idea in the post. Never thought to fill empty top shelf bottles and hide the real ones. Now I wouldn't use bleach (well not 100% bleach) but thank you geekologie guy for the idea

Who's stopping you from smashing off the top of the bottle if you need a drink bad enough!?

stepping by just to say that your blog or site made me laugh the whole afternoon, it's just ... hilariour .. thank you
