Dec 26 20073D Projector System Is Wicked, Scary
The Musion high definition projector system "uses unique HD video projection, producing three dimensional moving images within a stage setting." It looks like it involves some sort of strange glass pyramid. And magic. A lot of magic. And not the fake shit that ass-clown Criss Angel is into, oh no. I'm talking legitimate 'sell your soul to Slavin the evil warlock' magic here. The real deal. The videos are from Toyota promoting their Auris vehicle at a shopping center in Europe. So yeah. I'm not sure what the first video of the ghost woman has to do with selling cars, but I think it has something to do with harnessing the power of the dead. Wait a minute -- that's my great aunt Gertrude! She says she's going to kill me if I buy domestic. I knew it!
Another video showing the Auris after the jump.

The first video isn't for cars at all. It's a video of Kate Moss using the Pepper's Ghost effect for the Alexander McQueen's fashion show.

Very neat about the projector thing...while I am not sure exactly how the second video really 'shows' the projector and what not, it's still neat to see what the lovechild of a new Camry and a new Yaris looks like.
Also, I agree with #1 about the flashes. That, and there's no way an image created from light can come out well with a flash photograph, heh, noobs.

yup. the first video is from alexander mcqueen's f/w 06-07 collection presentation, 'windows of culloden.' so this technology has been around at least a year or so. does it project on smoke or vapor or something? wish i knew how it worked. other than the magic, of course.

This technology has been around a long time and is based on "peppers ghost". Basically it uses glass (silvered or not) as a beam splitter to create an image "apparently" in space. We patented similar technology 22 years ago and created a pyramid shaped glass sytem for 360 degree viewing in 1992 for CES and 1994 for ths same show, this was for AT&T cosumer products. Of course now with HD and better video projectors the options are endless.
