Nov 13 2007Steampunk Laptop Looks Old, Works

We've posted steampunk laptops in the past, and while this one doesn't quite have the extreme bad-assness as the first, it does work and can actually be closed and transported easily. I like the key there next to the left wrist-pad, I think that's a nice touch. I bet it unlocks a vintage porn stash, which is awesome. I wish my laptop had one of those, right next to Caps Lock. I love vintage porn. I think. If the women aren't hairy.
Four more pics after the time travel.

beautiful, but scary to carry around. I especially like the feet.

Hmmm, it looks heavy to carry around to each class, but at least it can double as a weapon ^^ and looks awesome, the other one posted (typewriter) is really neat too.

How badly would that suck if you shut the laptop with the key still in it?

Neat, I'd like one. Though I can imagine it being heavy (since it is wood)...I still can't figure out what that last image is all about (the gears).

i think the gears are the top of the laptop, when you close it.
nice laptop, looks nice near my wooden PS2 in the games room of my 17th century mansion

Seeing as nobody's commented for a few days I doubt this'll be seen but I thought I should put in my two cents just in case. Anyway, that's Datamancer's laptop, and the key isn't decorative. you put it in and turn it to actually start the computer. Wall Street Journal did a special on him awhile back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg7fVMiwCvY He makes lots of objects like this, and you can comission work from him.

That is a pretty awesome laptop, I have to say. I'm not sure if I would ever buy one (should I ever stumble across someone's wallet with that much money in it), but it is definitely something that would be cool to just have around. If it was a laptop that you actually used to do stuff, that would be better than having it sit on display.
