Nov 20 2007For Trekkies: Wicked Star Trek Home Theater

startrekhometheater1.jpg

Well we've seen the Star Wars home theater in the past, and now comes the Star Trek version. And damn is this thing jam packed with goodness. Modeled after the Enterprise NCC-1701D from The Next Generation, this thing boasts "motion-activated air-lock doors with series sound effects, and a “Red Alert” button on the Crestron TPMC-10 controller to turn all of the LEDs bright red and flashing. The system also features “one of the largest Kaleidescape hard-drive based storage systems” ever created, amassing eight servers with 3,816 DVDs."

Well damn. That is one serious home theater system. Looks like someone really loves Star Trek and has serious money to throw around. I wish I had serious money to throw around, but I don't. I just have play money. And they've stopped taking it at the strip club.

Three more must-see pics after warp speed.

wooow ! tha's super cool!! omg! perfect for christmas!

So is it actually for sale? I mean it's neat and all, but no where as awesome as my home theater. Mine doesn't need props for one to feel as though one is in the movie.

Hey guate6,

Your 21 inch Sorny resting on a milk crate does not constitute as a home theatre.

So *that's* what those Google guys did with their money.

I would be thrilled to have that for the first week......

well DAMN!!!! Aside from the fact that I used to watch Star Trek, this is some damn good craftsmanship, and 3800 DVDs is SICK!!!! I want one, gotta add a stripper pole though and then it's complete. Oh and @third, that does to constitute a home theatre for us poor folk

Awesome what you can do with a little of imagination...

thats awesome.

but i think id feel weird watching anything other than a start trek movie.

Because nothing will get you laid faster than a star trek themed home theatre Amirite?

yes, you did a good job!

WOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!
I wan't one
I wan't the money that it cost

:D

@bordeom - are you adding a holodeck, too?

Wow, the future is full of pastels and soft blues!!!

What a geek... i hope he already has a gurl, cause he's never gonna get any ass with that setup!!!

BTW... where the hell is the ready room... how do you sample from Enterprise NCC-1701D and not have a ready room... what a loser!!!

It's a little of Star Trek in that, dude!

#3, No need to be jealous. Clearly you're new, as I've talked about my home theater system before. I have an 1080p HD DLP projector that projects an image that's 10.25 feet (see: feet) diagonally, along with a 630 Watt 5.1 surround sound. So perhaps your milk crate idea is cute, but I'm in it for the awesomeness. My system pwns. That is all.

NIce i have a one around the same size but i think my sound is like twice as powerful as that but sounds like a nice set up and it is so awsome playing games cause the room is only like 15 feet long so it feels like the characters are as big as you

#18: good work. Theater systems pwn.

So why does Worf have all the controls for the theater? Shouldn't they be by the captain's chair?

thats awesome.

but i think id feel weird watching anything other than a start trek movie.

Exactly, I could not agree more. It's very cool, but ultimately, I would never do that with my home theater room.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! i want that so freakin' bad. i just don't have any $$$
