Oct 1 2007Using Phone While Driving Kills You Big Time

phone-car.jpg

Someone took these pictures in Russia, where it is forbidden to use a cell phone while driving. It's a huge Motorola RAZR 2 inside a Mercedes. There was speculation it was an accident, that the phone fell of a sign, but if you look at the last picture in the gallery, the sign is about three feet above the Mercedes. So it's some kind of marketing gimmick. A stupid one. Some social commentary about driving responsibly and not talking on your phone. Like how beer companies always put "Please Drink Responsibly" on everything, even though they know I'm going to get shit-house plastered and make out with ugly chicks.

More photos after the jump.

first!

Oh that's clever marketing. I will now forever be afraid of gigantic phones crashing down from above. Bravo, marketing gurus.

the car doesn't even have plates or temp tags, and how the crap would the trunk pop open the way the phone's crashed into it? no way is that an accident

This is just marketing to show that the 'razr' can cut through stuff... that is the Razr's slogan.

Personally I have no use for a phone that big, great marketing but very poor product planning.

This ad has made me reconsider using my giant cellphone while driving from now on. Thank you Germany!

Russia is awesome. But the way they drive there is crazy. I remember my cousin was showing me around and never even for a second hesitated to use the sidewalks to drive around traffic lights or even slower drivers. And all the lights and women wizzin by made me feel off da hook trippy!

Well, when you're a giant, and all people do is make you 170 foot pencils, its nice that Russia took the time out to make me a huge-ass phone. Thank you Russia!

yeah saw they had another one somewhere in germany

You're allowed to use cell phones whilst driving here, but only if you use a hands-free set. No hands-free = BREAKIN' THE LAW.

And comment #4 is right. The ad says: "Острый как никогда" or "Sharper than ever". I'm afraid it has nought to do with phone-related accidents.

hey, do you guys remember that one dude from "trigger happy tv"? he would have use to that phone.
