Oct 11 2007Toyota iReal Is A Wheelchair On Steroids

Is it an armchair? Is it a Hover-round? What the hell is it? It's Toyota's new mobility concept, the i-Real. The seat moves from an upright position to a lying down one depending on your speed. The thing tops out at about 18 mph, which is the max legal speed for 50cc type vehicles in Japan. If these thing makes production and come to the US, you better believe it'll need to go at least 30 mph. I'd be taking this thing to the liquor store and back all the time. In style. So what if I've already amassed a collection of DUIs on bicycles, golf carts, and ride-on mowers. I'll get one on this thing too. 'Cause I real. Real stupid. And real horrible at driving.

must get one

I'd want one too but I'd end up getting so lazy and fat i'd look like that monster in the ad for xbox testers. SERIOUSLY. For a profession that is made fun of for being made up of primarily fat, socially retarded basement-dwellers, they sure didn't try and break the stereotype (maybe breaking the photo plane) with their casting. I once knew a rat guy who was a tester. Skinny as hell. They should cast him. he was still dirty, but at least he wasn't a glob like that mess.

Now thats how I (want to) ROLL! Better than those silly bubble and egg cars I keep seeing here.

They stole the design from Charles Xavier...lame.

The i-Real is a cool gadget.
I would like one to go to work in it.

iReal? I think apple's gonna sue someone

actually #6, so many companies have gotten away with putting the notorious " i " in front of their products. apple cannot do a thing.

To hell with _i_ and _My_ and _K_ for that matter!

I agree with mike :D

Sitting and riding on the stuff makes me imagine that you're watching a western film and drinking beer, except you're in THAT film... I think that's one of the silly thrills that the vehicle offers...

I want one now!I'm in a wheelchair,and that is well cool.Believe me,it's frustrating going everywhere at 1 m.p.h.

Just seen this on a rerun of Top Gear and had to Google it!
I'm a wheelchair user and I too get frustrated at going so bloody slow and being so bloody uncomfortable as well as looking very uncool.
Anyone know when they're up for sale in the UK?!?!?

I was watching Top Gear today on BBC America. They featured this on the episode. They said it would be about 2,000 pounds (about 2,800 US dollars) when released in the UK. I'm stoked for it. They're hoping it will become more like the Segway and more like an atv.

im geting one i cant wait till there out

The chair comes out in 2010 (well that's what they're hoping), the guy said it on Top Gear.

I heard that the chair can access the internet, and ask it for a food and it rides you there by itself.

The thing i love about it is !EEVVEERRYYTTHHIINNGG!

I like the idea, or the concept, but it is too abstract to actually make people buy it sooner than later. Maybe a redesign of the outlook should give a better shot for this concept car, but total I think it would be perfect and great!

"The seat moves from an upright position to a lying down one"

Lol, if you've seen the movie "Wall-E", they made some sort of "chairs" for the old people to use to get around, but everyone liked it and used it and they got fat. (Well, more fat in america, lol.)

(BTW, i live in america (born and raised), so dont send me hate mail.)

this thing looks so badass.. they need a shield for the whole thing for when it rains and yes whoever said that it needs to go 30 in the us. your totally right hahaha. i will totally get one tho.
