Oct 16 2007New Rubik's Cube Is Digital, I Miss Analog

Well apparently the analog version of the Rubik's cube just wasn't enough for the greedy company (it only sold a paltry 300 million units), so here comes the Rubik's Revolution! No really, that's what it's called. The segments don't move at all anymore, instead you can play 6 different games with awesome titles like Cube Catcher and Pattern Panic. They all revolve around pushing the glowing button in the middle of each side. The unit costs $20. I think I'll stick to the original analog version. You know, I once solved it in under a minute. Using my penis.

@Marcello: crawl in a hole and die kthxbye

My little brother got one for his birthday. It took about ten minutes of turning it and pressing buttons for him to get bored of it. I gave it a try and it only took five.

You mean it actually took you five minutes to get bored with it?

I got one of these "next generation" cubes for Christmas from a well-meaning co-worker. For a few fleeting seconds I was almost excited -- it looked like a Rubik's Cube (which I hadn't owned for several years) and the stickers were all shiny and holographic. Neat!

Until I tried to scramble it and discovered the sides were a bit hard to turn. The instructions informed me that it was not, in fact, broken, but that in fact the immovable sides were a great *improvement* over the original since the user no longer had to have an IQ over 20, but merely needed to be able to poke shiny things. I hear birds do that very handily, so perhaps this opens up a whole new market for Rubik's.

I expect to hear soon that Chevrolet is releasing the "next generation in Camaros". It will be a sleek, sexy vehicle with shiny holographic paint, and will be operated by spinning the steering wheel back and forth to arrange Tetris blocks on the cutting-edge heads-up display. The wheels will not actually turn, nor will it have an engine, but Chevrolet expects this to be a great improvement as your 6-month-old will now be able to safely drive your car with no training whatsoever. The car will MSRP at $500,000.

First I know this is an old post but still... They didn't replace the Rubix cube retard. I love witty blogs with people who think they are funny.
