Oct 2 2007Make The Whole Ocean Your Aquarium

The Jelly-fish 45 habitat is like a cross between a house and a boat. Which would make it a houseboat, except the damn thing doesn't go anywhere under its own power. So it's a habitat instead. It measures 30 meters tall and 15 meters wide. It can house up to 6 people, and has 5 levels, the lowest of which is partially submerged so you can see fish and pollution and stuff. I really do want one, but at $2,500,000, I can forget about it. I've already sold all my non-critical organs for video games and beer. I'm basically just a head and an arm.
One more picture of the underwater section after the dive.

This 2003 concept looks freaking awesome. It's listed at $2,000,000 now, and there is actually a concept for a hotel resort that has these as the "rooms". Apparently the resort would cost $450,000,000.

That would give 'basement flooding' a whole new meaning.

I hope it's tethered to the seabed or something or else that coral is going to come smashing through those windows.

Stupid. Great idea, but there are not any underwater sleeping quarters. What is a half underwater home worth if you can't wake up to an underwater sight.

#6 I dunno about you but I sleep on the couch anyways.
I think this is an awesome idea, but I'll wait until it costs around $950 so I can afford the mortage.

I thought about what you said, but just looking at the couches in that picture, they don't look THAT comfortable to sleep on. Maybe they'll make a few changes with the final design and your idea with be good to go.

Honestly, for a "houseboat" that's not a bad price, in fact, I'd say it's quite inexpensive (relatively speaking), as I've seen house boats that go for over $7 million. Anyway, conceptually it's cool, but I'd prefer a house boat with a motor or three. instead of an overgrown expensive piece of tupperware.

Tupperware*

i love that thing. also i bet they can customize is so the "basement" is 1 huge water bed, just good for smoking some herb and staring at the fish for hours.

Yea, I realy do like unexpected midnight wakeups, when some killer shark hammers through the window into my bedroom. I always feel romantic. You know, sharks are sexy. But so damn cold. Maybe flowers can warm them up. I'll try next time.
