Oct 18 2007Braille Tattoos, So The Blind Can Read You

braille-tattoos.jpg

The Braille Tattoo was designed by Klara Jirkova. It looks like a skin disease. They're steel, titanium, or medical plastic "bumps" that are implanted under the skin. So the blind can read them via touch. I'm not really too sure what to say except it seems gross as hell. But I'm not blind. Sometimes I wish I was though, because it turns out I'm dating the world's ugliest woman. Even my dog won't go near her -- and he's blind. I bet he smells the ugly.

"smells the ugly" oh that is rich.

this is so retarded. it's like "hey, check out my fake moles!"

This is nothing new - they're just making them smaller. I've "read" much larger braille tattoos before. At the strip club. Their message was "give me another twenty".

The tattoo says "sun" in Braille... so is the idea that the blind person feels her tattoo and says, "Oh, that's a lovely tattoo of a sun"? Somehow, it really loses something in the translation, doesn't it?

This will be cool if women have them implanted on their tongues and naughty parts. RIbbed for MY pleasure.

Its not a tattoo and its nothing new, as the guy above posted, subdermal implants have been around for ages.

Hilarious. Always hilarious.

thats f***in nasty...ewwwwwwwwwwww gross. why would you wan tbumps in your arm that dont need to be there

I find your comment insulting, if you don't like the tattoo thats fine, but you should not insult whomever you are dating.

Well it's as dangerous as a normal tattoo or norplant implants... it has its risks. It also just looks terrible.

It doesn't even mean "SUN" ;) there are random dots not even braille i'm afraid...

I have blind parents. My mom has never been able to see if her life. The world can be very unfriendly to those with disabilities and although I'm sure my mom would prefer a graphic tattoo, it is nice to see that people are coming up with ways for the blind to enjoy something has simple as body mod. :)

In all honesty I find this really interesting. My mother was a teacher of the deaf, blind, or mental disabled and I actually rather like the idea of having a braille tattoo if it said something meaningful, but I don't think I would use an implant lol that kind of things just scares me personally, simple ink is quite enough haha.

Delphine: It actually does say "sun" but it has to be read with your head tilted to the right.
