Sep 3 2007Solar Powered Water Purification

Designers Alberto Medo and Francisco Gomez Paz have developed solar powered purification bottles, cleverly named Solar Bottles. They hold over a gallon of water, and take about six hours to kill off the majority of things that aren't good for you, through a combination of high temperature and UV-A exposure. I think these things are a great idea. Because, let's face it, drinking a camping buddy's urine makes you less of a survivalist, and more of a sicko fetish person.

SECOND!!!
Can´t believe this REALLY works.
But if it does, it´s the greatest invention since the triple layered toilet paper.

Why not just recycle and use a regular clear plastic water bottle?
I know the temperature will increase.
I guess I would have to check to see if the plastic filters UV-A.

piss is already sterile when it comes out of the body, as long as you don't have any cooties. so, if it's instantly bottled and re-heated by the sun, it should be fine, right? i'd drink it. screw it...
nothing a shot of rumpleman's can't fix.
bring on the dancin' girls!

#5. I, too, would like to drink and screw this piss water. Just kidding... You could do that all by your lonesome self, buddy. I just like to watch. ... And record.

I think Surviorman needs to keep this with him at all times. It is a great idea. Believe it or not, there are times when people get stranded in the middle of God knows where and the only water available has amoebas and such. This would definitely filter out the killer bugs and save you a bad case of the thundering trots.

Carli - I'd like to put you in the bottle, to clean you up, and then drink you tenderly.

Our company makes solar units that do a better job on a larger scale. Your comments are pretty funny though. www.mobilepowerintl.com
