Aug 31 2007Zubbles Are Colored Bubbles!

zubbles.jpg

They are bubbles. They are colored. They are awesome! Zubbles have been in the works for almost a decade, but they aren't hitting the market until spring of 2008.

Zubbles are soap bubbles that used special dyes called leuco dyes allowing them to be colored. The purple bubble uses a chemical called crystal violet lactone. The soap mixture that produces them was the first in the world. Invented by Tim Kehoe, a toy creator from St. Paul, Minnesota, the bubbles have a very distinct color and do not leave stains. After they have popped, the color disappears with friction, water or exposure to air.

I'm going to have to talk to my girlfriends about producing some children ASAP so that I will have kids to buy these for. Because heading down to the park with no kids of your own and playing bubbles with random children is less like fun, and more like getting the police called.

More pictures after the jump.

I WANT!

Colored bubbles? I think the proper term is "African American" bubbles.

I first heard about these almost a year ago. They were supposed to be released in Q1 2007. I have a couple of toddlers that would love these but by the time they get around to selling them they will be too old!

You are never too old for bubbles

Totally agree with #5.
...and by the way, your toddlers are actually mine.
But if you pay for the toys, you can keep them.
I have more than enough at home.
Let me know if you want a couple more.

My prediction: fall of 2008, the FDA demands a massive recall of the Chinese-manufactured "colored bubbles" because of their tendency to make children's eyes explode, running oozing sores, and the whole problem w/ the explosive bowel syndrome.

i created these in 1997 including glow-in-the-dark bubbles that glow different colors in blacklights. i can't wait to see this guy's patent

I want zubbles...

You're toddlers will not be too old.
You don't get too old for bubbles.
Especially colored bubbles.

remember back when you used to blow bubbles as a kid?

yeah? you do?

...well, he's back in town and he's been asking about you.

I agree with #4.
That's just racist. They're trying to put the white bubbles down.

psht, i can make normal bubbles look like that MERELY by taking acid and/or shrooms.
coloured bubbles? big deal, guys. big freakin' deal.

O_O OMFG.

WANT THEM.

Why do you need to have kids to buy these for??? I'm 50 yrs old and I always have bubbles and balloons to play with!! Now, I do have grandkids who know where I keep the bubbles and balloons and they love them...but I don't wait for them to come over for me to have fun!

these look amazing. i can't wait!!!

I think the idiots who posted 8 and 9 are full of it.
