Aug 1 2007X Beam is a twisted wrench

The X-Beam wrench is an attempt at revolutionizing the traditional wrench by adding a twist down the middle. The simple twist gives a larger area and more ergonomic grip than traditional wrenches. It's a great idea, I just wish they went the route of the S2 hammer and added some "elastomeric shockgaskets" to it. You can never have too many made-up features is what I always say.

or surface drive...

Maybe if it had a ray gun in one end. And the other had a food dispenser like a giant PEZ....

LESS useful!
How the hell are you supposed to hook another wrench on the open end (when using the box end) to gain leverage?
... why don't they put speed holes in it too? morons.

this thing is kinda stupid because I do a perfectly good job twisting my wrenches throwing them at the wall when they don't do what I want. Money saved.

Well papa bear, it's an alternative tool, not a replacement to your traditional wrench. When the job doesn't require a lot of hand pressure, I'd use that thing because the opposite end seems to have a wider surface area.

^I meant that towards Nifty, not papa bear. I love that name though!

So, are we, as a society / species, done inventing things now? We figure that we've got it covered and now it's time to just put warps, spins and "elastomeric shockgaskets" onto things and call it "new"???

Well, as Americans we've stopped inventing thing's. We just take stuff the Japanese make, change the name, then say we did it. Its the American way. So I am going to be British, they have cool buses.

American invention over the past few years hasn't been much about gadgets as it has been about revolutionizing media and social networking. The sociological footprint of these developments has had a huge effect on the way we interact with each other.
Japan may have the best toys, but we made Youtube, Google, eBay ...

#5: That is exactly what I was thinking. They should have added a feature with an extender, or made it telescoping or something. Good eye.

And I love how they have "Non-ratcheting Box End" called out on there like that is a amazing feature.
