Aug 7 2007Steering Wheel Desk

As an executive on the go, time management is a very important factor in my daily life. After critical examination I realized there was one time during the day where I was really not utilizing my time to the fullest- in the car, driving! Sure I could dictate notes to my personal secretary, but more often than not she is busy doing, er...something else. So I can not tell you how relieved I am to have discovered the steering wheel desk. Now I can write emails, check my horoscope, watch movies, download music, and drive down the sidewalk at the same time! Not only that, but I think I ran over a bum two nights ago!
One more picture of a serious executive putting the steering wheel desk to good use after the jump.

I can take solace in the fact that when that car does hit something, the little lip on the bottom will either shatter multiple ribs, or collapse Mr. Jackass' throat.
4. uruwai - August 7, 2007 3:35 PM
and this guys are a "proud member of the National Safety Council"?
Why?, you might ask. where else you should direct your attention when you are at the steering wheel of your car??
Isn´t writing emails and checking excel calculations the safest thing to do?
this must be another scheme to identify and erradicate defective genes.
and a pretty good one at that

I know I would not not want to do this.
6. uruwai - August 7, 2007 3:42 PM
i beg PLEASE Mr. Geek, let us know when this ingenious device claims his first victim.
I can hardly wait to celebrate...
7. Brian - August 7, 2007 3:56 PM
I could see this being legitimately helpful... when I'm parked in my car and sitting and waiting for someone it would be nice to have a little desk on the steering wheel to use. While driving though... yah. Not a good idea. This will finally rid the planet of the drivers who sit in the fast lane talking on their cell phones.

probably isn't actually meant to be used while driving :p The guy in the picture is not moving
9. uruwai - August 7, 2007 4:25 PM
What is the guy driving?
Looks like a Honda to me...

Dear God...who in the world would think that this is a good idea? And whoever buys it deserves to get punched in the face by the guy whose car he just rear-ended.
12. Stewpid - August 7, 2007 6:11 PM
Oh wait, here it is. Just give me a second, it's kind of big...
*PFOOOMP*
There we go! I tell you, this "Really, REALLY, Ridiculously Bad Idea" file is getting to be a bit over sized.

#10 - Nice, very nice.
(I'll take three, thanks. And I don't even have a car. Yep, you're that good)

If the airbag deploys, the driver will be killed. No joke, no pass go, no collect $200 for the funeral.
15. Lily - August 7, 2007 8:39 PM
This would be fun to give someone if you really hate them.Or someone going to have a baby.
16. bo - August 7, 2007 9:47 PM
Im thinking this is a joke or meant to be used while parked
17. RandomNigel - August 7, 2007 10:08 PM

So he's too busy to waste a second of his time not looking at mountain ranges. Maybe he'd get ahead if he didn't dress like Barney Gumble.

life insurance companies are watering in their mouths right now.
i bet they won´t pay a dime to anybody if someone dies while using this.
what a nice way to leave wife and kids in the street!
At least you can be sure that they will water the flowers on your grave every day.
With urine water, that is.
Seriously, someone should investigate this. I´m pretty sure Al Qaeda is behind all this.
Or even worse: Posh Beckham!
20. Pastor Al - August 8, 2007 9:35 AM
Does anybody have a job that is SOOO critical that they actually need this?
21. drunkenbeastie - August 8, 2007 2:29 PM
interesting. i didn't realize that business casual for executives had sunk down to hawaiian shirts and khaki shorts.
22. meppers - August 8, 2007 3:36 PM
if the airbag goes off, you die! :D
23. Things Fall Apart - August 9, 2007 8:47 AM
23rd!
24. wiinja - August 13, 2007 11:04 AM
i bet you could strap a kid onto it, if you're out of car seat space, or to teach little junior how to drive early
25. Brivtech - August 14, 2007 6:32 AM
Quoting RandomNigel:
"That laptop is sitting at a killer angle."
Not just for the driver, but the hard drive as well, there'll be some serious wear on the bearings and read/write heads.
Clearly, from the image on the laptop's screen, the laptop appears to be hooked up to a camera, and he's using the laptop to also drive the car! Obviously it's not working out so well for him, as he's going cross-country, and has left the road completely! ;-)
26. Lunar Patronus - August 15, 2007 11:16 PM
So...
They've finally come up with a way to INCREASE the ammount of work time AND hit-and-run deaths in one?!
...
Bitchin... gotta get me one of those.
27. Fredex - August 22, 2007 12:15 PM
I don't know about America, but in England its illegal to even use a phone without a hands free in the car now, those little hanging air fresheners are banned on your mirror and eating whilst driving is technically illegal too.... I think this thing has got to be more dangerous than the lot combined.
28. Jesus - August 29, 2007 4:16 PM
For the love of God...err I mean Dad....This is meant to be used while being parked! Are you people that retarded to assume it's going to be used while driving? You have to be a God (dad) damn moron if you think you can drive and use a laptop at the same damn time. Anyways, this is a good tool if you are parked and need to use your damn laptop or placing a porno mag to whack off to.
-Jesus Christ
29. dan - September 4, 2007 2:26 AM
For all you that think this is a bad idea, I'm guessing you've never tried booting up your laptop to walk your mother through setting up a printer over the phone while driving down the freeway...I couldnt figure it out so i had to call her back and tell her to upgrade to IE7.
30. Leia Swift - September 10, 2007 4:09 PM
NICE - I want one so I can get naked on my laptop's webcam any time
31. David - September 12, 2007 1:00 PM
Yet another distraction for drivers because cell phones, PDA, lattes, newspapers, etc. are not enough. This is a horrible idea! Drive in your car, work in the office (home or otherwise). Sheesh.
32. Lucky ME - September 14, 2007 12:00 PM
Thank you!
for giving more dumb ideas to idiots who already drive with there freaking cell phone while driving.
.......... and while your add it why don't you build something that will wipe your ass while driving. Hey it will save you time from pulling over to the restroom.
33. phil - September 14, 2007 4:03 PM
dumbest idea ever
34. Moespaws16 - September 18, 2007 12:20 PM
oh yea, thats very helpful. a little vanity table. awesome idea for us ladies on the go who want to put our makeup on while driving....all we need now is that ugly as sin "gun" blow dryer to go with.
35. Tim - September 30, 2007 8:32 PM
I am a truck driver, and when I was over the road I used to take my laptop with me to use when I waited hours to get unloaded or loaded. I had to put my map on the steering wheel and put my laptop on the map, so this thing would be a great improvement and I might even buy one now to use when I eat in the truck.
36. John - October 6, 2007 7:43 PM
this may seem believeable but does anyone that has looed at this picture have eyes? the second picture is a fake first of all why would an important excecuter, more than likely on his way to or at work be wearing a hawaiian button up t? and why , if this is real, is it awesome? anyone with a brian could invent this...
37. Khiara - October 8, 2007 11:27 AM

Ok, here's another one: And why would an executive be driving a mid-range Toyota and not a Lexus?" (Yes I know they're the same, but usually if execs can afford the more expensive car, they'd go for it.
39. Leah - October 13, 2007 11:39 AM
Who here wants 2 kill themselves here? cuz if u do plz go ahead and use this!
40. Marcelo - October 16, 2007 11:16 PM
This is stupid. The wheel is to be used for driving not as a desktop!! This is for people to kill themself. Totally useless
