Aug 3 2007M.C. Escher's impossible Waterfall sculpture

ThinkGeek is selling a sculpture of M.C. Escher's famous impossible Waterfall. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually break the laws of physics, and only looks right when viewed at a very specific angle with one eye closed. Which is exactly what I ask the ladies to do whenever I get naked. Sometimes I even have them close both eyes.

I love that stuff!
It's cool to see how they "physically" made it work, even if it only works from 1 angle. Cool.

What is impossible about it?

Can't you see - from the correct angle (or when you view the actualy original artwork) it is physically impossible for the stream of water to run upwards and then pour back down to the base of the stream again...
Also the main tower defies logic. The middle and top sections are directly above one another, but they support sections of the water stream that should be apart from one another.
Impossible.

Ahh. I remember that picture!
It confused the hell outta me.
And this sculpture does pretty much the same thing.
