Jul 13 2007Transformers' Bumblebee '77 Chevy Camaro for sale

The original Bumblebee '77 Chevy Camaro from the new Transformers movie is up for sale on eBay. It started at $10.00 but has already climbed to $60,101.00. If you want to save some money, just buy a regular '77 Camaro for $500 and then bang it up a bit with a hammer. And maybe write "Bumblebee" along the side and attach a Post-It note that says "Not A Fake."
EDIT: The starting price was $10.00, not $14.98 like I originally said. $14.98 is the shipping price. Sigh, I'm an idiot.

The starting price was not $14.98... that's the shipping price. Which brings me to... how is it that it costs $14.98 to ship a car?!

rofl, i was watching the tv guide channel the other day, and it was stated that the car they used was not a 77 camaro, but the prototype for the '09 camaro.

OK, but only if it comes with a bottle-holder for my Jack Daniels

imscuba, they used both. First it is the old one, then the new one.

Yes imscuba, watch the movie and you will see that it starts out as that car then turns into the prototype after they make fun of the way it looks. It is part of the movie.

To concur, that's how they did it in the movie. First Bumblebee was a '77 Camaro. Contrary to the classic cartoon and original movie released in the 80's, Bumblebee was a VW bug. Also, yes, the car later used in the movie was the '09 concept for the new Camaro.
Though the engine mods the '77 model had does not justify the price, and though I'd not buy that car for the asking price, It's neat that it's on sale. I hope a museum or something buys it so people can go in it and see it and what not.
I went a step further and bought the action figures though, that way I don't spend thousands of dollars on non-transforming Transformers (because, really, who would want non-transforming Transformers). So I spent $280 and bought the whole gang of transforming Transformers.
See: I R Smart.

PS. I looked at the bidding history, and yes, the s/h is $14.98, the starting bid was $10. All proceeds are being donated to the Fisher House™ Foundation. And...it's for pre-approved bidders/buyers only.
AUTOBOTS: ROLL OUT.

I thought it was dumb that they made Bumblebee a camaro when originally he was a VW Bug. And I was disappointed that they made Optimus a pussy, especially when he was fighting Megatron. But it was a cool movie...and thats the most expensive 77 Camaro I've ever seen...

Just another movie from my childhood that gets raped for the dollar. The fact that this is not a VW Bug ... *shakes head* Why not make Optimus a effing IPod and sell out all the way?

Can you direct me to a site where I can get a 1977 yellow chevy Camaro? under $500 would be nice, but i dont care about price, as long as its not RIDICULOUSLY huge. I just want the car, so I can drive it and look awesome. And yes, It has to be yellow XD

Hey, for those of you bitching about the fact that Bumblebee was originally a VW Bug, not a Camaro...It was acknowledged by the screenwriters that this was duely noted and not a faux pas. In the scene where he buys the car, the Camaro "opens" its door and smashes the shit out of the car that Bobby Bolivia is trying to switch them to for 4000 dollars. The car that Bumblebee smashes is...yes...a VW Bug. That was somewhat of a personal jab by the writers at the original! Which brings me to the next point...why pay 60K for a 4000 dollar car??? LOL
