I know many people that have worked for Geek Squad and they always told me stories about sniffing around customer's computers and finding nasty porn they've collected. Some of the porn was even of their own customers!!! (eg involving bestiality, kitchen utensils/appliances for sex toys, and all that other crazy damn stuff you'd never expect people to do. It is gross and disturbing to think how many people don't know how-to fix their computer, yet they can carefully store/download all their porno with the utmost organizational skills. Hell, I wouldn't even touch the computer after seeing all the dirty crap they have on it. Geek Squad are perverts and have no life. Not to mention, they are probably more skilled in grabbing porno off customer's computers than actually FIXING the computer (retards). Get a better job wankers.

I'm not a GeekSquad tech but I've found some pretty sweet stuff off peoples computers I've fixed. Like video's their 19 year old daughter took showing off her body to send to her boyfriend.

Wait a few days until you have to take your PC in and then when you get it back see if it had been opened or deleted or copied.

I remember working as a tech guy for a stereo/computer shop in Edmonton. Moms would drop their kids computers by to be fixed, and while they were there I'd ask if they wanted to know what the kid had been looking at on the web. They'd always say yes, and the kid would NEVER have thought to delete the cookies, plug-ins, and usually any of the cache. I'd show mom some of the filenames (cause double-clicking would have been gross).

LOL... I remember some of the moms storming out of the store or even rushing upstairs to grab the kids out of the CD section. Funny stuff.

I used to be a BBY tech... before the days of "Geek Squad" and I thought I just had to share this story.
Short Version:
A girl came in with a camcorder (belonging to her parents) that had a tape stuck in it.... she couldn't open the tape bay to get it out. I could tell something was up right away because she was frantic. Kept saying how she need the tape out of the camcorder asap. So... naturally... as a good tech, I bumped this case to the front of the line... hehe. Sure enough the video was some pretty hot stuff... her boyfriend taping them having sex. The girl was a freshman at my high school at the time. I showed it to one other tech and we decided that we could never tell anyone about it.. hah.
So she came back to the store mayyybe 2 hours later and was soooo relieved that I had gotten the tape out without harming the recorder.
She looked at me with a little smile and ask if I had seen the tape.... I said "No."

Now as for stealing porn off customers computers? I never did that.... why.... I had IE at home.... wasn't too hard to come by.

First, there's no evidence that that screen capture was actually a Geek Squad employee. It's just a series of mouse trails and rt-clicks. I don't doubt that it is, but it's not usable evidence.

Second: ehh, so what if GS looks at your kinky ass homemade porn. It's your kinky ass who made it. And if it's just webfinds, I guarantee the GS guy has much worse on his own computer.

Third, I poked around that site and read some long confession of a former GS employee, and found something much much worse. Apparently one particular department had more computers to fix than money to pay their employees, so they told the Geek Squad to wipe all the hard drives and reinstall windows, and then just tell the customers there was a mistake, Best Buy and GS being protected by a waiver that the customer hastily signed. THAT is more criminal than some 19 year-old checking out your wife's t***.

I hate to steal from Anexio, but Al, I agree with much of what you said in the last post. But I do think that you can say alot of the main points without cramming religion down their throats. And I do understand that pornography can be damaging to a young or even old mind, but I know with me, it would have been more damaging to be snitched out to my mother about something like that. Even more than my father forcing me to go to his nudist colony when I was grounded. Thing about nudist colonies is, as a youngster, you get images of sexy women running around naked. Not the case. Most of the people were at least 50, and the only good looking chick that I only saw once, like me, didn't take her clothes off. Gee, I guess I know you all well enough by now to tell you guys that. I might be swayed by the "porn doesn't damage anyone" argument if I hadn't seen, read, and personally experienced much of the devistating effects of pornography, and yes, premarital sex. It's not just the religious wackos like me that see the problems behind it.
Just ask Courtney, (who I'm assuming is your girlfriend from your myspace page) how much she likes the fact that your mind is full of images of other girls who she is meant to hold the standard of. Ask any woman how she likes having to compete with the fantasy you have in your mind about how sex "should be" based on the education you have recieved from xxx pages, playboy and the like. Ask the models / actresses how great they feel about their job... and why they are doing it. Ask them how they feel about men. Ask the countless men who are addicted to it, who have ruined lives (theirs and others) because of it.
Then turn inward and examine your thought life. Ask yourself how slippery the slope has gotten in your own mind. Has the content escalated yet? From Sears cataloge, to Victoria Secret, to Boobs, to X, to XXX, etc. How has it effected your thought life, ability to concentrate, and ability to hold normal conversations and have friendships with women? Has it caused you to put pressure on your girlfriends and ruin / harm relationships? Could you stop looking if you had to? Etc. Etc.

This is not some namby-pamby, innocent, "nobody gets hurt' thing. Porn is powerful and damaging. Sex is amazing, wonderful and great... when treated with the care and respect it deserves.

Organized religion is a sin in itself. I love how this has become a religious argument... I always seem to find these, or perhaps they find me.

Two things have caused just about every war that's ever been:

1.) Religion
2.) Beliefs

Religion has caused more deaths, directly and indirectly, than anything else in the world, I would say... save for maybe dying itself. People are either devotees or victims. Most of us are victims of the nagging and whining of Christian activists in this country. This country was meant to be the land of the free, freedom --- yet the Christian community wants to control it "under God." Stop making decisions for God --- I'm sure that he/she/it is capable of doing so, thinking such, organizing whatever they need to without your cursed human brain tricking itself into thinking so. Just because you serve your God doesn't make you an almighty extension of divine power. You're still human and eat, sleep, breath like the rest of us.

Personally, Christianity causes more problems than it helps to fix. This is merely my opinion, of course, having "practiced" Christianity all my childhood in a Pentecostal family. ok all in all what this boils down to is church and state and the fact that the bible to be used in any type of legal argument is invalid and contradicts the first amendment because using it for legal terms would be pressuring it into our society. I'm 15 years old and have seen plenty of porn, and I am not damaged at all. I know what real sex is, there is a difference between passionate real sex, and porn. If you cant see this difference by this age then you already have a problem.

Whatever.. I work for Geek Squad and sure people probably do this.. but anywhere you take your computer you run the risk of people looking at your porn. I for one have never had religious ideals forced at me but I've had morality and ideals taught to me for all of my childhood and hence have developed strong views of what is intrinsically 'right'. Ultimately many of my ideals are becoming old fashioned in a rapidly changing social climate. The real issue is that religion is failing to adapt to a new perspective in our modern world because religion is based on ancient inflexible tenants that haven't been revised to fit with modern knowledge and ideology. While most religions have adapted some people still believe that everything that they need to know is contained in a book. That goes for all religions. The question of religion should EVOLVE to meet the current social climate. Instead of preaching about outdated tenants they should only try to install an underlying moral fiber with the principals of no murder, no stealing, no maiming, and no rape or other violent crimes. I am not perfect but I would never murder, or rape because of the upbringing that I have had. Religion should be abolished as an a way to control a population using fear of gods wrath and the fire of hell and be replaced by a good upbringing. I mean science trumps religion every time so why not simply take the positive foundations instead of the high and mighty holier than thou attitude that we have been getting. Lets reform religion!

Anyways, I work for Geek Squad. I don't care what's on your computer. I don't want to see it. Usually anything like that we find is a mistake, like Granny turning on Large Thumbnails because she's blind and leaving her webcam peek-a-boo shots somewhere we have to go. I think all of us have been scarred by that sort of thing, I won't even open images to see if they transferred properly. Besides, having a personal flash drive or hard drive inside the precinct gets agents fired because Best Buy is terrified of stuff like this. Saying the words "data privacy issue" to my manager sends him into conniptions, and the employee hotline has a section dedicated to this.

And for what it's worth, I wouldn't divulge anything I saw to someone's family members. I'm a computer technician (sort of), not a life counselor. The only time I say anything is if I see something that directly compromises the computer's security, like advising people that their kids may accidentally pick up a virus through Limewire.

Lastly, on a general note, I don't understand the vitriol towards Geek Squad. I've been an internet goon a lot longer than I've worked for Geek Squad, and nothing really changed. Everyone I work with is just like the people I talk to on places like this, or goof-off board like 4chan. GS is not for people who can do it themselves, but 90% of the criticism I see is from that perspective. Obviously there are some immoral assholes and dumbshits who have worked for Geek Squad, but there's a bit of a leap between reading a few stories online and saying everyone who works for a company should be publicly castrated.

I'm relatively ambivalent to the religion discussion religion isn't good or evil in and of itself, but the values aren't intrinsically tied to this arbitrary belief system. Acting as if somebody who has problems with religion doesn't care about the moral fiber of their kids is intellectually dishonest, not to mention stupid. And on that same note, the damaging things that religion can do to a child can't just be written off with "Oh, they mean well." That only takes you so far, all sorts of bad things are done with good intentions.
