Jul 18 2007Full Scale Gundam Robot
Some folks in Japan took it upon themselves to make a full scale, 59-feet-tall Gundam robot. I can't tell out if they're going to leave it on the ground or prop it up standing, but I can tell you one thing: this is madness! Beautiful, beautiful, madness. You can't tell, but a single tear is rolling down my cheek right now.

It's just a poxy "walk around" theme park model. The translated web page goes into great detail about all the realistic battle damage you can discover. *yawn*
Hmmm.. interesting damage description for the left fist "The Gundam left arm which caught the suicide bombing of lumber ラル ".
Can't see THAT happening in Universal studios park!
Blast your eyes people! Next time somebody builds a big model, don't asume world domination is on the cards... unless they start erecting 59 foot models of George Bush. EEEK!

I remember that show. Not really on anymore that I know of so why is this important? And it really looks like just a big rip off of The Transformers.
9. RandomNigel - July 18, 2007 3:29 PM
Gundam rocked.
I can just imagine this thing being like a giant Power Rangers robot. Y'know...With 5 or 6 people inside of it controlling the different parts?
I wonder if they'll go out and destroy Tokyo....

Woah, that is super sweet. But now I fear the 59 foot models of George Bush.
I'll go hide somewhere.

Hey Joe Mamma, a little geek info: Gundam (1979) came before Transformers (1984). So I guess Transformers ripped off Gundam.

I just remember the Cartoon Network Gundam show. I always skipped it b/c it always seemed to have some white looking chinese dude whining about something while sitting perfectly still for 30 min, it always came on after DBZ, now that show rocked!!! I guess there is a whole other part of the show I never new about. Yeah I learned something today.

Hey #8, 11 & 12:
Both Gundam and Transformers were ripping off a little movie called "Robot Jox"

@ the article - I love the idea, and I think that considering what half-assed ideas us americans have for theme park attractions these days, this is actually pretty cool
@ joe mamma - you're an idiot
@ the comments - it's just a post, dont get pissed just because it doesnt have perfectly cited geek cred.
