Jun 19 2007The Carpet Alarm Clock

Designers Sofie Collin and Gustav Lanber have developed The Carpet Alarm Clock, which forces you to get up and step on it in order to turn it off. Which sounds pretty good in theory, but you'd just end up walking back to your bed and falling asleep. What they really need to do is develop an alarm clock that just lights you on fire in the morning.

First?
And lame? I think yes.

Dear Diary, I don't think this has the saucy factor people need in the morning. Flames on the other hand would really get the a.m. party started.

Well, gee, absolutely no way to outsmart this alarm clock, hyuk, unless it merely needs weight to be applied to disable it.

Doesn't even come close to the alarm clock that hides from you.

This would work real well until my cat comes and scratches the crap out of which would probably end up electrocuting it. Or my dog piss on it shorting it out which starts a fire. Hey then I wake up on fire. Ta-Da!

Brownian - Did you ever consider that from the man on the bed's perspective, it says 8:20?
15. vªnman - June 20, 2007 12:39 PM
Yes Brownian, you must think of perspective if you want any of your ludicrous quips to be taken seriously.Duh.

If you put this alarm clock in front of the bathroom mirror and it was loud enough, that would force you to get up and go to the bathroom, at which point I would go back to bed. But I think many would at that point start shaving or something

Oh! Better idea: have several small patches in the mat that disable the alarm that change at random every morning, so that you're forced to try and find where the "off" thing is.. and after violently stomping all over it, you're bound to be awake.
Just a thought.
