Jun 22 2007Pleo the Robotic Dinosaur

pleo.jpg

Pleo is a dinosaur robot similar to an AIBO. Each one is unique, in that they start off as a newly-hatched baby Camarasaurus but then develop their own personality, mood, and habits. It's created by the same guy who created the Furby and was introduced awhile ago, but now they're finally taking pre-orders. The units cost $349 and won't ship until October, but they look cool as hell. I defy you to check one out in action and not want to buy one. I also defy you to look into my eyes and not fall in love.

I don't think I could ever have one of those.
I would end up getting annoyed at and it screaming
at it to shut the f*** up and throw it againt a wall.
Like I did my Furby...

I've already pre-ordered mine-can't wait!

Sounds like somebody's having some really awkward sex.

My kid would love this. Problem is, I would love to keep my $349 a little more.

*watches*
I don't want one.
And I betcha I could take you up one your other offer, too.
*glare*

What if one develops an evil personality?

i want one. but thats probably because i dont get sound on my computer at work.

I'm in love with you hedo! I mean geekologie.

Were these things voiced by frank oz?

aaaawww!

wait......is it a girl or a boy?

Both!!

I could clearly hear the one flaw (that god awful whirring and buzzing noise) all these robot toys have. I think that will be the last noise I ever hear.. The noise the robot nurse will make when it administers my euthanasia injection. Either that, or the sound of 1000 nerds droning in shock as I plough my Toyota Avensis through the walls of a World of Warcraft convention?

Sorry, but we had to sit and watch "Little Foot" star in a bazillion land before times and he wouldn't grow any older than seven and stop singing those awful songs. no more dinosaurs!

i think i'd rather have a real one.

ps. i'm already in love with you, geekology guy.

Ooh, looks like more food for my more exciting powerful pet, MR. MICROWAVE!

Yes, they can cuddle. But can they fight? To the death?!
