Jun 6 2007Nationwide Ad

No, this isn't Photoshopped. It's an ad for Nationwide Insurance showing paint dripping off a three banner spread across the north side of the Atlas Building in downtown Columbus Ohio. I'm assuming the parked cars are part of the ad, but deep down in my heart I really hope they aren't. Because nothing says good advertising like randomly painting strangers' cars without telling them.

What would be cool is if the parked cars weren't actually there, and they were just painted onto the wall so it looked like the cars were actually sitting there...
If that makes any sense.

What would really be cool is if they actually painted random cars and didn't tell the owners.
4. Pirate1650 - June 6, 2007 8:02 PM
What would be even cooler is if they spilled the paint by accident then made the ad to cover it up

What would be even cooler would be if they had a big neon sign with a flashing arrow pointing at them and reading "Nationwide Insurance just ruined these cars. Lets hope during your 'accident', you paid your premium." Extortion. The X makes it sound cool.

What would be even better if, instead of an insurance ad, it was a paintballing logo.
With maybe a few dead babies laying around. Yeah, that'd make me want to compete again.

Or...or...what would be really cool is if there was just a piece of paper that says "NATIONWIDE" on it!
Now THAT, my friends, would be cool.
Or a unicorn with the words sprawled on it's side.

That is the single most interesting thing that's happened to Ohio in the past century. Seriously guys, DON'T MOVE TO OHIO. That's the highlight of our capital, right there. Kickass ad nonetheless, but still...
It's like a new stoplight. "I hear dis one's gawt a blinkie settin', a-hyup!" *thumbs suspenders*

Great marketing Strategy
Gotta love it when companies combine optical illusions in with their marketing.

Nope - it's real. It's right down the street from where I work - at Nationwide's Headquarters.

c-bus also had an ad where they put a mini cooper on the side of a building. people freaked out about it, like it was going to fall.
we also have or had a giant iPOD. that really played music.
FYI.
columbus is only lame if you like to stay in your house all the time.

I love advertisements like this. They're kind of refreshing to see companies and organizations trying new ways to grab attention.
