LOL, that is the best. Slap some serial numbers on it and call it a day.
I'd love to see some student that is required to buy a USB key come into class with that and bitch to the teacher when it doesn't work. Have the teacher spend the entire class trying to fix said drive and then call it a day.

I would have been a bit alarmed at the fact that a USB thumbdrive has a MAC address.
